This set of Elaina cosplay Convention photos taken at the Co-Dimension Street exhibition is finally sorted and ready to share with everyone today. A lot of thought went into hair and makeup for this character. The silver-white long straight wig required repeated combing and styling to ensure it maintained its sleek drape even amidst the bustling exhibition environment. Red colored contacts paired with winged eyeliner emphasized the bright clarity in the eyes. This costume is rich in details—the wide navy-and-pink pointed witch hat, the glossy oversized yellow ribbon bow, along with the navy pleated skirt and tall boots, created distinct visual layering that fit the character's temperament perfectly.
Coordinating with photographer Fan Chen during the shoot was seamless, and the venue lighting was great. In the medium close-up shot, I struck a pose pinching the hat brim and touching my chin; capturing that slightly playful, subtly cunning vibe required fine-tuning micro-facial expressions. For the full-body standing pose, stepping one leg forward with the right hand on the hip highlighted the absolute territory between the tall boots and the skirt hem. My personal favorite is the third full-body shot with legs spread, raising the magic wand high—an energetic and dynamic pose where lowering my center of gravity beautifully accentuated leg lines while providing a full composition, keeping the figure centered without risk of edge cropping. Taking such Convention photos at an anime expo heavily tests the ability to capture light and shadow and blur out background crowds, requiring precise timing to snap the shutter.
Although setting up the scene took some time to align with the exhibition theme, and as a non-professional cosplayer my proportions and pose control can't compare to professional models, I did my utmost to capture the character's essence through my own interpretation—including that elusive gaze and the subtly confident smirk. Thanks to the stylist for the delicate, face-flattering makeup, and thanks to the photographer for the dedicated snapping. I truly enjoyed controlling character body language and deeply felt the joy brought by ACG culture and Anime-style photography. Reviewing the fine details of this work—from wig selection and styling to posing—there are many areas for future improvement, such as the fixed angle of the wand and techniques to keep wig styling from looking stiff. I practiced at home many times, but the feeling on-site is always different. This set of photos is not only a showcase of character appearance, but also a symbolic expression of her personality, wisdom, and witch identity. Using deep navy as the base, accented by bright yellow and pink to blend contrasting elements, creates a powerful visual impact—which is perhaps where the true joy of attending conventions lies.
