[Entelechia cosplay] New Chapter of the Oracle: The Overwhelming Presence of the Blood Demon Mommy

What should you shout when you see a Blood Demon? This meme joke describes this feature photoshoot of Arknights Entelechia cosplay in the New Chapter of the Oracle perfectly. Here is the first close-up shot of the smug, triumphant face and the second full-body shot. Talking about the face first: red eyes paired with pointed ears, crimson lip gloss matched with black patent leather garments—the cold, glamorous aura of the character came right through. During photo retouching, we deliberately brought out that slightly looking-down, self-satisfied expression, with just the right angle of a lifted chin, making the facial expression so on-point that my own face felt stiff after shooting. Originally, I planned to add a beauty mark near the eye or the corner of the mouth to boost recognizability, but unexpectedly, during post-production, that layer got masked and blurred out into illegibility, which is indeed a regrettable minor flaw.

The low-angle shot for the full-body photo was a carefully calculated perspective: the giant scythe prop took up almost more than half the frame, and its weight was truly exaggerated—lifting it with one hand while posing effortlessly was genuinely exhausting. The edges of the prop were treated with a metallic reflective finish, shining brilliantly in the dim environment. The outfit of the day consisted of red-and-black patent leather, a bright red cape, a white ruffled collar, over-the-knee white Stockings, and stiletto high heels, paired with that red leg garter—the visual impact of the whole styling was intense. The long legs were further elongated by the low-angle framing. While patent leather looks stunning, it easily overexposes under multiple studio lights, requiring cautious adjustment of reflector angles and top-light intensity to capture this sleek texture, but the final result was very satisfying. The dynamic flow of the bright red cape was also enhanced by the ample airflow on set.

Reflecting on the shooting details, many trials were conducted during pre-shoot makeup: red eyeliner and glossy lip glaze, paired with fair base makeup, kept facial contours sharp and distinct under hard light. This New Chapter of the Oracle costume structure is relatively intricate; besides the large outer coat, there are multiple inner layers. Fortunately, the indoor venue temperature was low enough, otherwise running around in this ensemble would have surely caused heatstroke. The leg garter combined with Stockings added a touch of chic elegance, pairing with the black high heels to elongate leg proportions. As a cosplayer, managing facial expressions for close-ups and maneuvering props both require great care—especially with the giant scythe, which could easily bump into lights or snag on the skirt if careless.

Overall, this was a deeply memorable photoshoot experience, especially the smug expression close-up, which required repeatedly adjusting facial muscles to achieve a manga-like dramatic flair. Although losing the painted beauty mark in post-editing was a pity, overall, the facial demeanor and costume texture in this new chapter series certainly made all the effort worthwhile.
