[Inaba Meguru cosplay] Sabbat of the Witch: A Day with Meguru

Putting together today's Inaba Meguru look was filled with anticipation from the moment morning makeup began. When styling the wig, I specifically used a curling iron to flick the tips outward, pinning the blue ribbon bow to the side—readjusting it three times to keep the fall natural rather than stiff. For the base, I selected a velvety matte finish, pairing crimson cosmetic contact lenses with winged eyeliner and deepening the red eyeshadow blending at the outer corners to capture her signature blend of enigmatic charm and cheeky playfulness.

The initial set at the park took place along a waterside promenade, where leafy green canopies beautifully made the pink jacket's saturation pop. That greeting pose in Figure 5—lifting one leg with a wave—looked effortless, but stabilizing my balance while allowing the pleated skirt to drape naturally in an authentic flare took over a dozen takes. Navigating outdoor terrain in black stockings (calf socks) and loafers drained physical stamina rapidly, especially when repeatedly freezing frames to accentuate leg lines, leaving the soles of my feet aching. Yet seeing the chromatic interplay of the pink varsity jacket, yellow knit scarf, and plaid pleated skirt on the preview monitor made every bit of strain worthwhile. The vivid yellow scarf held gorgeous texture under natural skylight, cascading down both shoulders to add dimensional depth to the silhouette.

Transitioning to urban streets and chain-link fencing alongside railway tracks introduced a cooler, industrial vibe. In Figure 3, leaning back against the guardrails with one knee gently bent, the receding tracks and distant city skyline served as an organic backdrop. Gusty winds whipped through the set, tousling the wig slightly, which ironically injected a breezy, candid slice-of-life realism. The black shoulder bag was not merely canonical prop fidelity, but functioned as a physical anchor that grounded my upper body postures. The over-the-shoulder glance captured in Figure 6, where natural light kissed the fold of the yellow scarf, remains my absolute favorite shot of the outdoor locations.

Moving indoors during the afternoon allowed the mood to unwind into relaxed warmth. Browsing inside a boutique while trying on thick black-rimmed glasses facing the lens brought out a demure, everyday studiousness. Lounging over shaved ice at the dessert cafe with a cheek rested on one hand, admiring the floral garnish in the bowl, felt genuinely like sharing a lazy summer afternoon with Meguru. Grasping the handheld console at the gaming station, the red and blue controllers paired serendipitously with the wardrobe palette, while cute cartoon table decals added comforting domestic life to the frame.

Shooting on location across an entire day is always physically taxing: jumping across varied settings from morning to twilight demands relentless touch-ups and wardrobe adjustments. Yet being able to showcase the multifaceted nuances of Inaba Meguru and convey that delicate intersection of everyday slice-of-life and magical fantasy from Sabbat of the Witch through still photography was a profoundly rewarding journey for me as a cosplayer.
