This studio shoot directly went for full-auto firepower configurations. The overall concept was to fully showcase the hardcore details of tactical gear against a pure black background. The upper body chose a camouflage tactical shirt paired with a heavy tactical vest; to add visual depth, various utility pouches and communication equipment were hung, and the headset was a tactical communication headset with a microphone, fitting the setup of a tactical girl. The lower body consisted of denim shorts paired with black over-the-knee socks and tactical boots. This tactical outfit mixing hardcore equipment with everyday elements has a truly strong visual impact.
In terms of props, this AR platform model was fully loaded with accessories: a suppressor, optical scope, and laser pointer were all present, and the weight and texture of the gun body were very well executed. During the shoot, to showcase the three-dimensional feel of the gear, the photographer set up a main light directly in front and supplemented it with rim lighting from the side-rear, separating the subject and gear from the black background. For posing, I tried various actions such as kneeling on one knee, aiming with the gun, and crouching. To steadily hold this gun loaded with numerous accessories, both arms and core needed to be tensed up tightly, though fortunately, I have some familiarity with such tactical movements normally.
There are actually quite a lot of actions in this set of pictures. Giving the photographer a minute of free rein, the shutter clicked rapidly—basically a burst of continuous shooting to capture the dynamics. In the photo of standing, holding the gun, and aiming, the center of gravity had to be steady, and the position of the buttstock against the shoulder had to align with the horizontal line of sight to present a relatively professional tactical posture. A white cylindrical platform served as the sole prop support, also adding a sense of geometric composition to the frame.
Wearing and organizing tactical gear indeed requires patience; adjusting the straps of the vest and the position of the leg rig took quite a bit of time. However, seeing the texture of the gear and the light-and-shadow details in the finished photos made all these preparations well worth it. The overall style leans toward hardcore tactical, while also carrying elements favored by the uniform fetish community, expressing the coldness of the tactical girl quite appropriately. If there are new ideas later, I will share other tactical pairings and shooting details.
