[Raiden Ei cosplay] Honor of Kings Ying at Nanning Liangya Comic Convention

Part of the convention photos from the Nanning Liangya Comic Convention have finally been retouched and prepped. I portrayed Ying from Honor of Kings. Gathering this ensemble demanded immense upfront dedication. The split-colored red-and-white wig required meticulous layer-by-layer trimming and styling, otherwise it quickly falls into messy disarray. Cosmetically, to embody the character's chilly edge, I selected pale amber contact lenses, accompanied by winged eyeliner and crimson lips to maximize facial sharpness.

The garment is crafted from substantial faux leather; though the inner base textile is quite thick, it yields a sharp, tailored silhouette on the body. Gilded silver metallic armor plates flanking the waist and arms served as primary highlights, though they noticeably increased the outfit's physical heft. To refine the visual presentation, I wore fingerless gloves with black polished nails. The lower half features an asymmetric styling—one leg dressed in a lace-trimmed sheer black stocking evoking a Fishnet stockings cosplay aesthetic, while the other remains bare, finished with black heeled ankle boots accented with red patterns and crimson soles that demanded careful footwork while walking. The most visually arresting prop was undoubtedly that vibrant red multi-pronged claw weapon in hand—it possessed substantial weight, requiring constant finger grip tension to hold steady across dynamic stances.

The venue was set within a spacious convention hall framed by industrial grey walls and overhead stage lighting trusses. To complement this mood, the photographer guided me through expansive, dramatic poses, including single-knee crouches to emphasize bodily extension. Posing with one foot planted atop a hard suitcase, the slender stiletto heels and haughty downward gaze required locking my core muscles to preserve balance. As for the "don't eat the mid-lane" challenge mentioned in the post, when staging this booth shot, I continually recalibrated my footing to keep the framing centered without getting pushed to the edge—testing focus much like dodging enemy skill-shots in-game.

Later, we captured dual-subject shots with my partner. She cosplayed a character sporting pink hair and deer-antler hair ornaments (Yao cosplay), dressed in an earth-toned, beast-hide style accented with fur trims and brown leg wraps. Combining our red-and-white palette with her pink-and-brown styling created striking chromatic impact. To convey organic synergy, I maintained a low semi-crouch while she stood atop a black step ladder, constantly finessing overlapping limbs so the compositions flowed cohesively.

Shooting through an entire day in thick leather battle wear and high heels proved an authentic physical endurance trial. Holding commanding, intense stances repeatedly left my legs trembling during set transitions. Yet witnessing how studio lighting bounced off the silver armor plates and scarlet claws—reflecting razor-sharp specular highlights—made every repetitive tweak and muscular ache worthwhile.
