[Xiao Qiao Cosplay] Honor of Kings Xiao Qiao Time Witch: White studio photography Comeback Shoot

For this comeback photo set using White studio photography, I chose Xiao Qiao's Time Witch look. Compared to the complex realistic sets I previously tried, a seamless pure white backdrop actually accentuates the intricate design details of this costume much better. The garment's palette features an ice-blue to purple gradient, with white serving as the primary tone to create striking contrast; under studio lighting in a white cyclorama, the light bounced cleanly, bringing out the layered textures of this Magical Girl outfit with crystal clarity.

Posing was crucial during the shoot. The Time Witch's magic wand has a rather quirky shape—a vibrant green cartoon design that is very eye-catching. If held awkwardly, it can easily throw the entire composition's visual balance off. Therefore, when choreographing poses, I deliberately experimented with resting the wand horizontally across my lap or leaning back with one leg lifted, allowing the lines of my arms and legs to extend fully so the focal point remained anchored on the subject.

Shooting in a white studio places extremely high demands on lighting; the slightest oversight can blow out the whites and wash away textural detail. During pre-shoot coordination, we prepared dedicated reflectors to fill shadow areas—especially where shoulders and legs were exposed—so the luminous, translucent light gave everything rich depth rather than a flat, dead white. Color grading in post-processing also leaned toward purplish-pink hues; unlike previous sharp, hard-edged styles, this one focused entirely on an airy, dreamy feel.

For hair and makeup, subtle tweaks were made: the wig is ice-blue with a gentle gradient, where the top buns and ribbons were essential in keeping the hair structured rather than messy. To pair with the heeled ankle booties, the poses naturally elongated leg lines, showcasing body proportions very cleanly against the white studio backdrop. As for the hat, its broad brim can subtly shade the face, and lightly holding the brim with one hand helped create a touch of mystique, harmonizing with the clean atmosphere of the white set to achieve a theatrical, stage-like crispness.

Overall, considerable effort went into fine-tuning poses and camera angles so the geometric patterns on the outfit gained dimension against the pure white setting. Instead of relying on cluttered sets, the imagery leaned entirely on bodily expression and garment texture.
