Cosplaying Laffey's bunny girl version at the Shenzhen AMM Anime Expo served as an official archive entry for my 2024 records. Honestly, the highlight of this look lies entirely in the details: the blue glossy bodysuit has a fantastic texture under studio-like lighting, paired with oversized white plush bunny ears, fluffy cuffs, and waist pompoms, visually delivering a crisp yet soft and adorable charm. What satisfied me most was the combination of white tights and black high heels in this White stockings cosplay, beautifully flattering the leg lines. The seated pose was deliberately chosen to look effortless while maintaining a stable center of gravity, capturing that calm, composed ease of balancing the serving tray.
During the shoot, we specifically chose a spacious white industrial-style venue where the expansive grey-and-white background accentuated the blue and white of the costume to the maximum, free of clutter to distract the eye. The chair was a high stool sourced on the spot, adjusted in height just enough to let my legs extend naturally. The bunny ear headband and blue hairband matched seamlessly, though wearing them for a long time felt a bit tight. Still, to capture Laffey's signature languid yet subtly tsundere temperament, persisting through these little details was well worth it.
Since the overall look is quite airy and light, the makeup used a translucent base with light-toned eyeshadow to make the gaze appear more lively. The small tray and book props in hand were actually very lightweight, but posing required careful wrist control to avoid looking stiff. Shooting this style tests expression management above all—one must convey the sweetness of a bunny girl without losing Laffey's trademark calm and unhurried demeanor from Azur Lane. It took many takes and adjustments to freeze this exact moment in these Convention photos.
The lighting and temperature on the day of the Shenzhen AMM Expo were ideal, making shooting efficiency higher than expected. Although the costume fabric is glossy, putting it on and taking it off wasn't complicated, except the collar splicing required meticulous alignment to avoid pressing against the shoulder line. Organizing these Bunny girl convention photos made me reflective: the most beautiful part of cosplay is using one's body and attire to touch the contours of another world. What the lens freezes is not just a styling, but the dedicated, immersed self of that moment.
Every time I finish a character set, I re-evaluate the post-processing possibilities. This time, I preserved the natural light-and-shadow gradients as much as possible, only softly smoothing the floor reflections beneath the stool so that visual attention remains centered on the subject.
