This shoot was completed at Qingkong Eiga Studio, where the overall set construction concept aimed to craft an ancient ruin submerged deep within shadowy, quiet waters. To strictly honor Senhime's canonical lore, we erected weathered European balustrades and carved stone pillars featuring ornate relief patterns inside the cyc studio, blanketing the foreground pool with an abundance of white and pale blue blossoms. The gentle water ripples, luminous surface reflections, and glowing atmospheric particles suspended in the air were all authentic physical effects forged on set through the synchronized interplay of lighting and props.

On the wardrobe front, the primary purple gown was embellished with a vibrant crimson ribbon bow; the shoulder and sleeve construction was exceptionally intricate, demanding precisely angled lighting before the lens to fully showcase the textural richness of the embroidery and satin ribbons. The wig styling and headpieces were equally prepared with painstaking care, with the crimson and golden elements crowning the head serving as the visual anchor of the entire design. To harmonize with the underwater ruins theme, expansive layers of gossamer chiffon from the skirt hem were draped across the pool surface, harnessing ambient rim light to mimic the fluid visual texture of a fish's caudal fins. During shooting, I reclined against the collapsed pillar and the pool's edge in a semi-profile posture with my head tilted gently upward—a stance that not only flatteringly displayed the garment's multi-tiered tailoring, but also resonated seamlessly with the water's reflective textures, using the drapery of the skirt to accentuate sleek body contours.

Photographer Zhanma No. 3 invested tremendous thought into the lighting architecture. With expansive water surfaces and lush botanical arrangements throughout the space, reigning in stray specular glares while cleanly carving out the subject was the greatest hurdle. We experimented with diverse lighting schemes, incorporating smoke machines to sculpt the volumetric god-rays unique to underwater environments, which ultimately produced two entirely distinct color grades in the final images. The first variation embraced a moody, abyssal deep blue with heightened contrast and profound shadows, making my pale skin and the crimson ornaments pop with striking vibrancy to evoke quiet stillness and mystery. The second variation shifted into an ethereal cyan-green palette with elevated brightness and softer illumination, conjuring a bioluminescent, dreamlike weightlessness. These two grading treatments offered entirely divergent visual narratives from the same raw capture: personally, I felt the deep blue version better communicated the crushing pressure and mystique of the deep ocean, while the cyan-green rendition breathed fresh, translucent purity into the frame.

The entire shoot was an arduous test of endurance and patience. The pool environment caused the already substantial garments to absorb water and grow considerably heavier, while sustaining a poised, stable semi-reclining posture demanded sustained core stability alongside keeping the neck and shoulders relaxed during low-angle takes. In particular, synchronizing the pool's natural surface shimmer with the volumetric light shafts required continual light recalibration and manual generation of gentle ripples. Fortunately, the final frames captured that exact visual harmony we sought—the poetic clash of ancient ruins and vibrant blooms, of serene quiet and lavish opulence. Under dim illumination, balancing the shadow nuances of the dark gown with the punchy crimson accessories while preserving overall ambiance was exceptionally challenging, yet repeated takes and fine adjustments yielded an ideal fusion between the skirt and its watery reflection. Between setups, the team remained vigilant to keep the fabric from absorbing excess water, as overly saturated cloth would severely hinder further posing; thankfully, the attentive on-set crew continually smoothed the trailing gown and replenished props to maintain smooth shooting momentum.

This production gave me a fresh appreciation for practical studio set construction. Through the synergy of the pool, floral arrangements, and fractured stone pillars, we successfully built an enchanting fantasy sanctuary. The deliberate prop placement and multi-tiered lighting infused the entire scene with rich storytelling depth. The journey was deeply fulfilling, and I am profoundly grateful to the team for their consummate professionalism in venue staging and lighting calibration—especially their surgical precision in rendering garment details and water reflections, which allowed this collection to evoke such a profound, tranquil ambiance.
