A Li's dance posture is quite expensive. To restore the charm of the Onmyoji Shiranui Golden Sand Prestige costume skin, this photoshoot put a lot of effort into action design and scene atmosphere. The detail layers of this costume are extremely rich, with white and light pink base colors overlapping, plus red borders and contrasting color waistbands. To showcase that lightweight feeling in front of the lens, the material selection of the clothing must balance being crisp and flowing. But this also brought challenges: as long as the movement amplitude was slightly large, the long sleeves and the red tassel knots hanging from the waist would get tangled together. When shooting that leg-lifting and fan-holding action, to ensure the arc of the flying skirt hem was the most natural, I repeatedly adjusted my center of gravity. While maintaining balance on one leg on the wooden clogs, I also had to control the upper body muscles to stay relaxed and stretched. The design of clogs with thick soles is actually very difficult to stand firmly on tatami mats; it requires the toes to secretly exert force to grip the ground in order to present an effortless posture in front of the lens.
The props in hand are the visual focus of the frame. That blue-background floral folding fan and the black-and-red folding fan have completely different textures under the light refraction from different angles. To match the warm-yellow lantern light source in the scene, we deliberately adjusted the angle of the props during the shoot so that the shadows of the fan ribs fell on the clothes, increasing the three-dimensional sense of the frame. The Japanese-style wooden lattice doors in the scene, the cherry blossom cloud patterns on the background wall, plus the falling pink petals, laid a very good foundation for the overall atmosphere. The red Japanese paper umbrella is not only a prop, but also a great reflector, making the light on the character's face softer.
This time I still want to thank my friend @在瓦尔登湖唱知足 for the post-processing. The color saturation of the Golden Sand Prestige outfit is very high, so during color grading, the overall warm tone was deliberately unified, and the peripheral environment was cleverly darkened to firmly lock the visual focus onto the character itself. The cherry blossom petals and the halo of the background lanterns blended delicately, giving the final photos a theater-like texture. In the creation of the ACG Seeing Plan, I feel that the combination of Japanese style dance and character temperament focuses on the details of the eyes and fingertips. Every time waving the fan, the gaze must flow with the opening and closing of the fan surface, and the curvature of the fingers must also maintain elegance. To showcase the character's unique confidence and composure, I practiced fixed-point gazes in front of the mirror for a long time before the shoot. Although completing these high-difficulty actions wearing thick-soled clogs consumed extreme physical strength, seeing these tension-filled dynamic freezes in the photos made all fatigue vanish completely.
