The official photos for my Kagura cosplay can finally be posted! This has been in preparation for a long time. In the lore of Onmyoji, Kagura's temperament lies somewhere between cool aloofness and innocence, so for this look, I chose a Japanese-style coat with a red base and gold patterns, paired with purple shorts and leg wraps. The layered, sturdy design of the waistband shapes the waistline beautifully.

Before the shoot, I talked a lot with the photography team for this Chongqing photoshoot booking, aiming for that serene courtyard vibe. Therefore, we specifically chose a real-scene location with an ancient wooden house and corridors. The authentic paper sliding doors, wooden steps, and cherry blossom branches hanging overhead perfectly match the character itself. For props, I prepared a paper umbrella and a folding fan, switching between several compositions including sitting, standing, and looking back over my shoulder.

The warm-toned light from the floor lanterns fell upon the fabric of the outfit, making the texture of the red clothing look outstanding, and the projection of light and shadow kept the overall frame from looking too flat. However, the purple criss-cross leg wraps and thick-soled wooden geta clogs indeed made movement quite inconvenient; walking even a bit fast could easily cause trips. Consequently, many shots focused on sitting quietly or leaning slightly against the railings. This actually helped stabilize my posture and beautifully showcase a tall and straight physique.

The photographer's lens was great at capturing details. A few shots of me looking down and turning sideways accurately caught that perfect balance between the character's cool aloofness and innocence. Post-processing mainly involved fine-tuning the color temperature, preserving the courtyard's inherent warm tones while lowering the highlights to add layers to the shadows. Overall, the final results delivered the character's true essence quite well, and small details like the hair and accessories were perfectly restored. It was a highly dedicated attempt, and the texture of this Japanese style photoshoot truly brought a delightful surprise through this Anime-style photography session.
