[Ace Taffy cosplay] Sharing Convention photos with a plush doll at the 36th Firefly Anime Game Carnival

This set of photos from Day 2 of the 36th Firefly Anime Game Carnival went quite smoothly among all the Convention photos from this event. The costume, makeup, and prop details for this look were relatively intricate. In particular, styling the long pink hair took considerable effort to accurately recreate the ahoge on top, the star- and cross-shaped hairpins on both sides, and the black beret, with two long braids woven at the back of the wig. The hair color is vibrant and looks wonderfully translucent under natural light. The outfit consists of a white sailor suit with blue trim, featuring a crop top and pleated skirt paired with black over-the-knee socks (Black stockings) and round-toe leather shoes, creating flattering proportions. The ruffled hem of the top is crisp and well-structured; despite the warm outdoor temperature, the breathable fabric prevented it from sticking to the skin and made it easy to put on and take off. The details on the outfit of the little plush doll prop were also faithfully recreated.

For this shoot, we chose outdoor curbsides and concrete steps where the black railings and gray concrete background provided an excellent contrast, making the pink subject pop. The photographer used a wide aperture to blur the background, maintaining a fresh and natural overall color tone. We tried various poses during the shoot—such as sitting on the curb stone to naturally extend the legs and highlight the contours of the Black stockings, or crouching on the ground clutching the plush doll, where the black fingerless gloves and arm warmers added depth to the look. Posing required careful attention: because the skirt is quite short, I had to ensure proper coverage while crouching and sitting while maintaining relaxed, fluid postures to avoid looking stiff. The amber contact lenses looked clear and radiant in the sunlight, and paired with detailed eye makeup, they perfectly captured the character's naive yet lively demeanor. The shoot went fairly smoothly, aside from the concrete steps being hard and making my legs ache after crouching for a while. After completing this set, I gained new insights into harmonizing makeup details with camera angles, and post-processing preserved much of the natural skin texture. Overall, everything from the costume to the accessories photographed wonderfully, making this a truly cherished convention memory.
