Taking advantage of the best lighting in the afternoon, I snapped a set of Lisa (Genshin Impact) Outdoor cosplay photos. The weather in Xi'an that day was amazing, with sunlight filtering through the canopy onto the stone carvings and slab roads, creating very rich layers of light and shadow, which was particularly suitable for highlighting the texture of this costume.
The costume details this time can be said to be fully maximized. The blue wide-brimmed hat on top of the head was shaped, and the white patterns and golden edging on it look very exquisite under natural light; the waist corset part features blue leather splicing and golden embroidery. To fit the body shape, the straps were adjusted for a long time before shooting. The slit design of the skirt hem neatly reveals the black lace-trimmed stockings, paired with black thick-soled Mary Jane shoes; when walking, the leg lines appear very slender. The white lace tube top and semi-transparent purple shawl sleeves reveal a bit of lightness in the sunlight, coupled with black leather gloves, the overall visual presentation has both the elegance of a wizard and a hint of mysterious sexiness.
In terms of props, I specially picked a magic book with a blue cover and golden patterns, and also held a purple rose in my hand. The book is used to interact during sitting and standing poses, such as flipping open pages pretending to cast spells, or supporting the book with one hand while extending the arm, which can well enrich the composition of the frame. The purple rose is used to add a bit of romantic atmosphere, looking very photogenic whether placed in front of the body or next to the side of the face.
The shooting process was actually quite a test of physical strength. The waist corset of this outfit is very tight; to maintain posture, I had to keep my back straight most of the time, especially when sitting on the stone railing. Not only did I have to maintain balance, but I also had to cooperate with the photographer to find angles, trying to extend my legs diagonally forward so that the perspective effect captured by the lens would look better. To avoid capturing extra figures, we deliberately avoided tourists and chose an area with European-style stone carvings and greenery backgrounds. The vines and stone pillars in the scene, paired with this outfit, create a retro and fantastical visual experience.
The post-processing part was handled by myself. During color grading, I deliberately retained some warm-toned sunlight feel, creating a contrast between the blue costume and the green background, while paying attention to the translucency of skin tone and eyes. Especially the texture of the green contact lenses under light and shadow needed to be brightened separately. I didn't use heavy filters, trying to keep the true original appearance of the shoot.
Looking at myself in the finished photos, I felt that the fatigue from preparing props, grooming the wig, and doing makeup beforehand had all dissipated. Every Outdoor cosplay trip is a process of conversing with the character; being able to present her in a real-world scene is in itself a very fulfilling thing. That's all for today's sharing, and I hope everyone can feel the magical aura within this patch of greenery.
