The costume finally arrived, and I slipped it on right after tearing open the parcel package. This project tackles Castorice's "Fluttering Butterfly Shadows in a Dream" styling from Honkai: Star Rail; seeing the official splash art earlier made me fall completely in love with that dramatic train design. Shipping-wise, SanWang indeed took quite a while this time, but examining the craftsmanship and fine details in hand completely excused the delivery delay.

Slipping it on, my immediate impression was how structured the tailoring felt. The upper royal blue corset features boning support along the spine, sculpting a distinct waistline without digging painfully into the ribs. The deep V-neckline framed with black piping boasts pristine stitching, while the butterfly ornaments accenting the chest and waist flanks came packaged separately, needing to be secured with hot glue or safety pins. I shifted their placement slightly so their orientation flowed harmoniously with the gown's silhouette. The collarbone and shoulder pieces are interconnected, lending a striking symmetrical balance once worn. The matching long gloves are cut from elastic fabric that fits smoothly over the arms without bulky bunching when bending the elbows, and the white feather trims encircling the wrists are genuine plumes that flutter at the slightest movement—guaranteed to create gorgeous dynamic motion during photoshoots.

The lower half serves as the visual centerpiece of the ensemble. Outside sits a petal-sculpted royal blue mini skirt resting over multi-tiered white ruffled underskirts, offering balanced puffiness without looking bulky. The standout highlight is undeniably the trailing train at the back—crafted from sheer, translucent organza printed with black butterfly motifs that cascade from waistline to ankle level, draping into a breathtaking arch. Turning to inspect my back profile in the mirror, the translucent train framed the silhouette with gorgeous Stockings and beautiful legs lines. Hem stitching was immaculate without stray threads, and the side zipper glided effortlessly, making wear and removal relatively seamless.

For the legs, I wore natural nude pantyhose to subtly even out skin tones. The footwear was the matching pair of royal blue heels included with the set, featuring ankle straps accented front and back with bows and black butterfly charms; with a heel height around eight centimeters, standing for long stretches can tire the balls of the feet, but the resulting aesthetic makes it well worth it. The wig is a soft violet long wavy cut; I tied it into a half-updo, gathering both flanks to the back of the head to leave the back cutout and the long train fully visible. The black butterfly headpiece was pinned slightly to the left crown using bobby pins, echoing the butterfly motifs scattered across the gown.

Regarding fabrics, the outer shell is substantial with heavy drape; hanging it on a coat rack overnight meant barely any creases remained when trying it on. The inner lining is gentle on the skin without itchiness. Two small details during try-ons are worth keeping in mind: first, the deep V-neckline is quite plunging, making fashion tape essential for daily test-fittings or shoots; second, the train brushes floor length, requiring careful navigation around chair legs and cables indoors to prevent snags.

This fitting experience was thoroughly satisfying. Up next, I need to scout a breezy outdoor location or a studio with floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows to fully capture the dynamic flutter of this gown's trailing train in full Anime cosplay glory.
