[Iochi Mari cosplay] Blue Archive: Pure White Oath, This Gown Is Utterly Ethereal - Image 2

Before shooting this Pure White Oath gown for Iochi Mari cosplay from Blue Archive, we focused heavily on establishing the right atmospheric mood. The core of this look is purity and sanctity.

In terms of styling, the light-blonde long straight wig was carefully combed and detailed to match the curvature of the original design, ensuring the tips draped with natural weight. The color of the animal ears overhead was layered to contrast subtly with the hair, which, combined with the illuminated halo prop, captured that ethereal, elf-like visual aesthetic. For makeup, I maintained a clean, translucent base to accentuate the focus of the blue contact lenses, avoiding overly intense colors in favor of an elegant, pristine look.

Costume details required the utmost attention. The white gown features sheer tulle and extensive lace embroidery; the high-necked lace collar and the gentle volume of the puffy sleeves at the wrists all had to be smoothed out before shooting to prevent wrinkles from detracting from fabric quality. A highlight I particularly love in this styling is the garter-belt style white stockings adorned with delicate pale blue flower ornaments—subtle details only noticed up close that elevate the exquisite polish of this White stockings cosplay look. The soft white tulle fabric bouquet held in my hands not only assisted in posing naturally, but also gracefully avoided awkward hand placements in the frame.

The shooting location was an indoor studio set where expansive white sheer drapes hung in the background with great light translucency, perfectly complementing the patterned wooden floor and vintage white European lanterns to establish an immediate sense of atmosphere. Photo 1 features a low upward angle; light striking the overhead halo made it look as though divine light were truly descending, and pairing the bouquet with an upward gaze created an uplifting visual tension across the frame. This angle tested both facial expression control and body posture—to prevent unflattering neck angles, lifting the chin required deliberate muscle engagement to highlight the elegant lines of the neck. Photo 2 employs a high downward angle, placing the subject right in the center of the frame, framed by the floor wood grain and surrounding lanterns for a serene, ceremonial quality. The photographer suggested directing my gaze slightly above the lens so my eyes remained bright and expressive from a high vantage point.

When shooting such an ethereal theme, the hardness and direction of lighting are paramount. Harsh lighting would shatter the dreamy mood of the gown, so we combined softboxes with warm continuous lights, ensuring highlight transitions were exceptionally gentle to highlight the sheer translucency of the tulle gown. The flowing white translucent train trailing behind the skirt nicely filled the negative space at the bottom of the low-angle composition, enriching the layered depth of the outfit.

Bringing the entire look together also relied heavily on the photographer's guidance. Adapting to different camera angles, I needed to swiftly adjust hand gestures and bouquet tilt to harmonize props with body lines. Although the indoor space was compact, this constraint actually allowed varied camera angles to create a sense of boundless expansion. Producing this Anime cosplay work that balances delicate realism with anime fidelity gave me fresh insights into conveying nuanced character emotion. The interplay of white tulle drapery, European lanterns, animal ears, halo, and bouquet forged a serene, sacred harmony. The unique luminous textures and soft ambiance were realized wonderfully in the final images of this Iochi Mari cosplay project.
