[Lumine Cosplay] Genshin Impact: Traveler from the Starry Sea

This time I prepared Lumine the Traveler from Genshin Impact, presented around the theme "Traveler from the Starry Sea".

The main color scheme of the Cosplay costume is white and light blue, with metal buckles on the neckline and waist having a high degree of fidelity in texture. The off-shoulder top design paired with upper-arm armor straps, along with thigh-high boots on the lower body, visually elongates body proportions while retaining the sharp, agile characteristics of the game character. For the blonde wig, styling took quite some care during early prep: the flared outer ends and front bang layers needed wax and hairspray to set individually, with multiple support layers added to hold shape in windy outdoor conditions.

The location was chosen in a field filled with small pink flowers and green grass, timed perfectly at the blue hour near dusk. The hand-held Cold fireworks sticks served as the core prop for this shoot. The golden sparks spouting from the fireworks stood out brilliantly against the dark sky, combining with faint natural ambient light to easily evoke an atmospheric feel. When shooting Photo 1 and Photo 2, I had to coordinate repeatedly with the photographer around the burning rhythm of the fireworks. Since Cold fireworks burn for a limited time, the shutter had to click at the moment sparks were densest, while I maintained arm height and body center of gravity.

In between shots, the evening breeze blew across, lifting the skirt fabric and strands of hair, giving frozen photos dynamic vitality. I really love the imagery of sparks scattering in the air, blending into the twilight glow. Photo 3 switched to a completely different ambient lighting scheme, shutting off most environment lights in favor of top-side lighting directly illuminating hair and upper body contours. Holding a small sparkler whose faint flame softly lit my face, the overall emotion quieted down, forming a visual contrast with the dynamic compositions of the first two photos.

As the Traveler in Genshin Impact, Lumine embodies a traveler wandering through foreign worlds. This "Traveler from the Starry Sea" theme fits her state of carrying a bit of bewilderment while remaining steadfastly forward. In this scene, overly complex special effects aren't needed—just real flora, real sparks, and the cool evening air. Although outdoor insects were plentiful and I got bitten quite a few times during shooting, the final photos made it completely worth it. I avoided using too many filters to modify lighting, preserving original camera colors so natural light's warm-to-cool transitions and firework highlights showcase authentic textures.

The photographer's capturing rhythm was well-coordinated; to snap the optimal spark state, we lit roughly a dozen firework sticks. I remained in a high state of concentration throughout, hoping to present the character's natural side rather than stiff poses. Compared to studio shoots, I prefer Outdoor photography with personal emotion and real-life details woven in.
