When I opened the express delivery yesterday, I literally went blind with despair. The wig was so frizzy it was unwatchable, the hair ends were tangled like a bird's nest, and the costume accessories were also broken during transit—metal parts fell off, and there were obvious crease marks on the fabric. Sitting on the sofa at that time, shedding tears while holding scissors and needle and thread, I unraveled the wig bit by bit, reinforced the costume accessories, and sewed and mended until the early hours of the morning. Today, I bit the bullet and put on makeup with swollen eyelids; the moment I put on the purplish-pink contact lenses, I felt all my efforts had paid off. The design details of this outfit are extremely rich; the transparent mesh on the chest and the golden totems required very careful alignment, and to support the light blue tulle ruffles on the shoulders, I added quite a few invisible supports inside. Trimming the layers of the light blue wig tested my patience greatly; after applying hair wax to smooth the hair, I went over it bit by bit with a flat iron. Although there are still a few minor imperfections, the overall fluffiness achieved the expected effect. The purple gemstone on the headpiece is very eye-catching under the lights, and paired with a large area of pink blush and glossy lip tint, that dreamy 2D feeling instantly came to life. From the selfie perspective, the small grey prop held in my left hand was actually a bit heavy, but I kept holding it for the sake of composition. The white flowers and birdcage in the background matched this ice-blue color scheme outfit extremely well. During the shoot, I kept adjusting angles for fear of breaking the parts I had just repaired, and every shutter click was done with extreme caution. Although the process was extremely twists and turns, seeing the final photos made me feel that all the hardship was not in vain. The pain of wig styling and fixing costume accessories is probably something only fellow hobbyists can understand. The lesson learned is that next time before cosplaying, you must reserve enough time to check all accessories; the wig must be straightened and styled in advance, and vulnerable parts of costume accessories are best reinforced by yourself once again. When encountering a breakdown situation, don't easily give up; biting the bullet and pushing through often brings out unexpected potential within yourself.
