For this classroom look of Nahida, I mainly wanted to present a casual feel that blends Anime school style with the mystical charm of an elf.
The top features an off-the-shoulder white design adorned with generous accents of mint green and grass green. The striped edging on the wide cuffs and the large green striped neckerchief at the collar add rich layers to the outfit. The wig was specifically chosen in silver-white with gradient green tips, which preserves the character's vibrant charm without feeling overly heavy. The large bow hair ornament and elf ears props you see are also crucial finishing touches for the entire makeup and look.
This shoot took place at Kasumi Studio, featuring a crisp, pure white background. Photo 1 utilized classic student desks and chairs to lean into the "classroom" atmosphere; holding a light green notepad, I mimicked listening attentively to students' answers while showcasing the white tights and black loafers that pair so well with this outfit. Photo 2 moved to a white display pedestal, with my shoes placed off in the foreground as I knelt on top, reaching up to touch my hair accessory to give the frame a more relaxed mood.
While this outfit looks refreshing, we actually faced quite a few challenges during the shoot. Because a white studio backdrop easily washes out clothing textures and contours, the photographer's lighting was truly critical. The first photo used a relatively high camera angle to highlight leg lines. The second photo adjusted focal length and angles to appear more natural. Combined with the fabric's graceful drape and clean makeup, the final result met expectations.
Genshin Impact's Sumeru character designs have always had rich cultural depth, and Nahida herself carries a scholarly aura. Trying to combine this aura with physical elements like everyday sailor uniforms and school desks—without forcibly recreating ornate in-game catalysts or complex VFX—made it easier for everyone to focus on the character's expression and soft textures.
To achieve better visual balance, I specifically adjusted the necktie position several times so it wouldn't look too bulky. When shooting school themes, the biggest fear is looking like mishandled uniform styling. Thus, when pairing the white tights and shoes, I intentionally chose patent leather platform loafers to add a stylish academy touch, highlighting the charm of a Cosplay cute girl. Although the whole process was done in the studio, combining props and varying angles kept it from feeling monotonous.
Interacting with the photographer during the shoot was super fun, especially while trying the kneeling pose in Photo 2, taking several attempts to find the most relaxed posture for my hands and limbs. The pacing was compact, but every final image was worth it. To me, cosplay isn't just about wearing a costume—it's stepping into the character's personality. Nahida's gentleness and wisdom can be subtly expressed through natural body language, like tilting her head slightly or gently touching her ear ornament.
The studio lighting was really on point, beautifully outlining the texture of the white and gradient green hair. Had the initial color matching been off, the photo mood might have felt dreary. This time, working with color choices and reflectors made skin tones and white garments look translucent. Looking at the raw photos afterward, I felt a solid background highlights character temperament even better than complex real-life sets.
Alright, that's all for this school-themed Nahida classroom showcase! I've shared all the details on styling and props above, and I hope you enjoy this clean, bright aesthetic.
