This visual setup for shooting Shaula mainly aims to highlight an atmosphere that is effortless yet carries a hint of mysterious oppression. The black-and-yellow color contrast is the core of the entire styling; the inner lining of the cape features a high-saturation bright yellow, creating a contrast with the black outer fabric and producing a gorgeous sense of layering under strong light. This large-scale color block contrast really tests the drape of the fabric, so before the location shoot, I specifically ironed and shaped the cape to ensure the edges retained a nice arc during dynamic candid shots.

The pairing of shorts and high boots is another visual focal point. The glossy material of the shorts has great texture under the lights, and when paired with knee-high boots decorated with yellow stars, it visually elongates the leg lines. Combined with the midriff-baring design, the overall proportions look much sharper. The position of the belt was also adjusted repeatedly; to lift the waistline to the most suitable spot, these small details often dictate the final visual outcome.

The shape of the headpiece was sculpted piece by piece during post-processing. To make the wing shapes more three-dimensional, I added internal support and tested the angles several times to ensure it stays securely on the head without looking overly bulky. For the wig treatment, the side ponytail was tied in segments, matching the yellow star hair accessories to echo the overall color scheme.

The biggest challenge during the shoot was actually the coordination of props. The heavy books held in hand and the pages flying all across the sky created a sense of transcending infinite time. To capture the best state of flying pages, we tried many times. The falling trajectory of the paper is hard to control; it required matching the artificial wind while timing the exact moment of pressing the shutter. To keep the frame from looking too rigid, I didn't just stand there; instead, I used the motion of turning pages to guide the viewer's gaze toward the negative space of the frame. The photographer put a lot of thought into the lighting, using a warm yellowish light as the main light source, which reflects nicely when hitting the black glossy material, while outlining a strong contour light for the character to make her pop out from the background.

In expressing emotions, I didn't use too many exaggerated movements, choosing instead a stable, restrained posture to match the theme. The focus of looking down at a book or the moment of raising the eyes to gaze into the lens both incorporated an understanding of the character's lore. Paired with the wig's bangs and green contact lenses, I needed to control subtle facial micro-expressions so that the intensity of the gaze wouldn't scatter. When the final deliverables of this set came out, the flying paper combined with the warm-yellow atmosphere gave the whole look a sense of intersecting time and space.

The process of producing this set was extremely interesting; from costume coordination to scene staging, everyone worked hard to find the best balance. Every time the shutter is pressed, it's a re-understanding of this character. To ensure the cape maintains smooth lines in both static and dynamic states, the positions of the star decorations on the clothes were also adjusted repeatedly to guarantee they have a metallic texture under the light without looking abrupt. The silhouette of the black leather boots is quite structured, maintaining a great contour when switching between standing and sitting postures. In the post-processing of the overall color tone, I deliberately preserved the warm-toned atmosphere without making the contrast overly harsh.

This set of photos underwent multiple adjustments from preparation to completion. I hope that through these pictures, I can convey the character's calmness and uniqueness. Thank you to all the partners who participated in the production; everyone's efforts made this scene a reality.
