This time I tried the kindergarten custom design version of Klee in Genshin Impact. Since the official hasn't provided specific settings for this outfit, everything from the clothing coordination to prop selection was my own idea. I chose a loose pink jacket with a white turn-down collar; to fit the kindergarten atmosphere, both the collar and cuffs were chosen with more rounded designs. I wore a yellow bucket hat on my head, styled the wig into twin tails, and added white animal ear accessories, overall wanting a well-behaved yet slightly mischievous visual effect.
In terms of makeup, the focus was placed on the eyes. I tried red contact lenses to restore Klee's eye color, used earth-toned eyeshadow as a base, slightly deepened the outer corners of the eyes, and matched it with pink-toned blush, hoping to make the complexion look better in front of the lens. Because it was shot outdoors under natural light, the lighting was relatively soft, which had high requirements for makeup blending. Before shooting, I deliberately pressed some setting powder to avoid reflection.
The shooting location was chosen next to a street with greenery and yellow lockers. There was a white traffic cone at the site with a blue directional arrow on it; the moment I saw it, I felt this scene was very suitable for squatting down to take pictures. The orange-and-white plush toy in my hand was a prop I specifically found to replace the bouncing bomb. Since it's a kindergarten setting, I didn't want the prop to look too aggressive, and this soft-looking styling fit just right.
In the photos, I am basically in a crouching posture. Actually, squatting for a long time makes my legs go numb very easily. During the shoot, to maintain my center of gravity, one or both of my hands would pinch the edge of the plush toy. I tried to keep my upper body as straight as possible so that the frame wouldn't look too cramped. Since the jacket is relatively loose, I needed to pay attention to arranging the hem when crouching to avoid messy stacking that affects the neatness of the frame. In the first collage photo, I happened to look up at the camera, while the last two photos show me looking down and fiddling with the toy. Personally, I feel that the composition of the second front-facing crouching pose is the most comfortable, and the combination of the character proportion and the background is quite natural.
Since this outfit was matched entirely out of personal hobby, the details might differ from the standards in the hearts of many fellow fans. If there is anything that doesn't meet everyone's expectations, I apologize in advance. Doing cosplay to me is constantly trying different possibilities, and the process of preparing props and costumes every time is very interesting. Although the outdoor shooting environment this time was simple, it was still a very happy experience. If there is an opportunity in the future, I might try other styles of custom design pairings and shoot in places with more local flavor.
