This Swimsuit Miyako version finally wrapped up smoothly at Zhongshan AS Comic Convention. To prepare for this shoot, I spent considerable pre-production time checking every wardrobe detail. The core of the outfit is a navy form-fitting one-piece swimsuit, spliced with sheer white ruffled tulle along the neckline and shoulders, anchored by a delicate black ribbon bow across the bust. While the design looks deceptively simple, minimalist garments demand exceptionally precise tailoring and body contouring. The white tulle is prone to creasing, so I meticulously steamed it before shooting to guarantee a light, airy bounce before the lens.
For the wig, I selected long, silvery-white straight hair styled into low twin tails, topped with white animal ears and a translucent blue floating halo above the crown. The blue halo was crafted from clear acrylic, catching natural specular glints under the venue's bright overhead lights to add a futuristic, playful charm to the silhouette. Because the twin tails were quite long, navigating the convention crowds caused frequent tangling, prompting me to keep a comb and styling spray on hand to touch up stray strands between takes. For makeup, I wore vivid blue contacts, subtly deepened the outer corners of my eyes, and dusted rosy blush across my cheeks to project youthful vitality. My nails were prepped in soft baby blue, accompanied only by a dainty silver bracelet to keep accessories from overpowering the design.
The shoot took place inside the Zhongshan AS Comic Convention hall, where we secured a relatively open corner. To build the scene, I prepared an inflatable blue-white-beige cylindrical bolster prop and laid down a circular white plush rug. For the first set of poses, I chose a kneeling stance with one hand resting on the inflatable prop. Because one-piece swimwear highlights bodily contours directly, kneeling required keeping my back upright while draping the twin tails cleanly over my shoulders so hair wouldn't bunch up behind me. This posture accentuated leg lines while tilting my torso slightly to channel an effortless, breezy charm.
For the second set, I transitioned to a standing pose, angling my torso slightly with my left hand resting against the prop and my right hand raised delicately. This movement shifted the focal point toward my neck, collarbones, and the sheer layers across the chest. Looking directly into the lens helped highlight facial makeup. The convention hall featured cool-toned industrial ambient lighting, which sculpted skin textures cleanly without demanding intricate fill lights to achieve luminous clarity. The photographer and I constantly fine-tuned framing angles, using shallow depth of field to blur out distant crowds and booths for a pristine frame.
Wearing form-fitting swimwear always demands extra care with diet and posture beforehand, as tight fabric requires a sleek silhouette. Meeting so many fellow fans on the show floor who recognized Miyako made the experience deeply rewarding. While this Swimsuit look isn't overly ornate, its crisp freshness aligns wonderfully with her personality, and I'm thrilled with how the final photos turned out.
