[Momoka Hanyuu Cosplay] The Cute Girl from Arknights, Spotted Live at BilibiliWorld

The schedule for BilibiliWorld this time was packed, but bringing this Momoka Hanyuu cosplay outfit to the venue was truly meaningful. Doing makeup from six in the morning until nine to fully adjust everything, the wig styling was the most time-consuming part. This peach-orange pink wig has a massive amount of hair, but to reproduce the character's fluffiness and the outward-flipping layers on both sides, I used three layers of hairpins and setting spray so the bangs and sideburns would drape naturally without looking heavy. The eye makeup chose reddish-brown contact lenses, paired with upturned eyeliner and dense false eyelashes to give the gaze a more animated 2D feel. Meanwhile, orange-pink eyeshadow was blended to echo the hair color, and the lipstick was a matte texture in the same color scheme, unifying the overall tones to look very soft under natural light. The white wood-ear edge at the collar and the black ribbon bow tie are actually not very convenient to put on and take off, but for the completeness of the look, I specially fixed the pendant's position with a pin to prevent it from swinging around. The large brown bow on top of the head is made of soft fabric, capable of swaying slightly with head movements to add a touch of playfulness.

The crowd flow at the anime convention venue was larger than I imagined. However, compared to many popular characters, indeed not many people play Momoka Hanyuu, so when walking around the venue, many fellow fans would look at me curiously out of surprise and then recognize me with great delight. I didn't bring many shikishi boards because I estimated in advance that only a small number of players might come to gather photos, but to my surprise, the few friends who recognized me were all exceptionally enthusiastic, and some even specifically came to take photos with me, which made me feel highly encouraged. The environment for shooting this set of photos was in the back row of a car outside the parking lot, borrowing the natural light filtering through the car window. There was no lighting equipment, but the light was soft instead, presenting the highlight texture of the wig and the skin tone very naturally. I specially took front-facing close-ups and a V-sign gesture, primarily wanting to record the relaxed state of the day, as doing anime convention cosplay still requires maintaining happiness and a sense of interaction.

In terms of makeup, I used a relatively oil-controlling liquid foundation for the base because the air conditioning inside the venue alternated between cold and hot, and walking around makes it easy to sweat; setting spray and loose powder were carried around for touch-ups. For the eyeliner, I used a black liquid eyeliner pen to trace an upturned outer corner, and the lower eyelid used light brown eyeshadow to outline the aegyosal and a subtle shadow underneath, which increases the depth of the eyes without looking too heavy. For the eyebrow portion, the original eyebrows were covered with concealer, and then a light-colored brow powder was used to draw straight lines; the overall makeup look leaned more toward an exquisite and natural anime style, keeping the round softness of a young girl without over-exaggerating the contouring.

Regarding the clothing, the ruffled collar of the white sleeveless top sits right at the collarbone position. After the fine black ribbon is tied into a bow, the golden metal pendant accents the chest so it doesn't look visually monotonous. Although the red geometric color block on the right shoulder only reveals a small portion, it forms a warm-toned match with the hair and lip colors; the overall styling has a relatively high saturation, giving it quite good recognition among the numerous cosplayers. I didn't bring many props this time, mainly feeling that body movements and facial expressions can better express the character's temperament.

Every anime convention actually offers different experiences. What touched me the most at this BilibiliWorld was that although the character is relatively niche, the pure joy of meeting fellow fans who recognize you is far more meaningful than being surrounded by a crowd of random people. When preparing the shikishi boards, I specially left a signing area, thinking of sending a piece of my heart if I met friends who recognized me. I did hand out a few on-site; though not many, each single one was highly worth it. For the composition of the photos, I prefer the third front-facing half-body shot because the figure is centered, the expression is natural, and the bow on top of the head as well as the necktie are completely presented without cluttered background interference, making it perfect as a commemorative photo recording this exhibition appearance. Finally, I slightly tidied up the wig bangs, using a comb to smooth out the parts messed up by the wind, getting ready to welcome the return trip in the afternoon.
