[Theresa Cosplay] Arknights EPOQUE Series - "Condolence" Civilight Eterna cosplay Full Set

Today I am sharing the complete final photo set for Theresa's Demon King "Condolence" look from Arknights. From settling on this theme to official shooting, preparations took over half a month. I ordered two wigs alone, keeping one as a backup. To address the issue of pink hair looking overly vivid under bright lights, I specifically adjusted the hair color with an overall spray tint, giving it a soft matte texture that better fits the melancholic atmosphere.

The costume is the centerpiece of this look. The material of the black long dress needed to balance drape and silhouette, so an inner layer of stiff net tulle was added to support the wide skirt, while the outer layer consisted of soft chiffon or satin creating layered pleats. From white flower appliques and pearl tassels around the waist to delicate white embroidery lines along the hem, every single detail was repeatedly compared against reference sheets. The headpiece was very intricate; with silver metallic twigs and subtle black lace, wearing it required care to prevent shifting while coordinating with hair strand direction to reveal just the right face shape and hairline.

We discussed the lighting plan for the wings for a long time. Because the wings carry an almost self-luminous sacred feeling in the original design, we decided to embed high-brightness cold white light strips inside the feathers, covered with pearl-luster acrylic or fabric. This way, under backlighting or side-backlighting, it creates that visual effect seen in the photos—glowing edges so white they seem to melt. During the shoot, the lighting technician provided a set of rim lights that fused seamlessly with the self-illuminating wings. In post-production, we focused on softening the background, removing extra lens flares, and unifying fog effects to deliver this hazy yet magical visual.

The venue chosen was in front of a tall building featuring classic gothic pointed arches. The rough texture of the stone steps contrasted with the delicacy of the dress. It happened to be an overcast day, combined with artificial fog, making the overall environmental light soft and dim. Standing on the steps with pearl strings draping down, this pose required a bit of strength without being overbearing, otherwise the shoulders would look stiff. To find that calm, quiet posture laden with a sense of mourning, the photographer and I spent a long time adjusting.

Personally, I feel that cosplaying Theresa goes beyond physical resemblance; capturing her essence is the real challenge. The "Condolence" Demon King setting feels complex to me—containing sorrow, determination, gentleness, and aloof solitude. The photographer asked me not to smile or make grand gestures, but simply gaze quietly into the lens. Under soft light without direct illumination, slightly lowering my head or looking straight ahead captured these naturally flowing emotions.

During shooting, holding up the heavy skirt hem while going up and down the stairs and keeping the pearl chain from snagging on chest decorations was truly a physical workout. Yet every time I reviewed footage on the monitor, I felt all the effort was worthwhile. For makeup, I kept things minimal: applying a light, sheer base, deepening contours with earth-toned eyeshadow, and keeping lips natural to avoid distracting from the main focus, letting pink hair take center stage.

Overall, this was a deeply immersive shooting experience. Without overly flashy poses, the texture of the scene, lighting, and styling held up the entire photo set. Tomorrow I'll shoot a few more scenario shots, but I'm sharing this proud main set first as a tribute to the preparation period. Being able to present a character I deeply respect in this way is a truly meaningful experience in itself.
