Let's straight up share this set of convention photos of Arknights Amiya. When conceiving this outfit, we wanted to add some on-site brightness and daily casualness as much as possible while preserving the core characteristics of the character.
First, let's talk about the layers of the costume. The main body utilizes a large area of a pure white ruffled shirt, with a very thoughtful small collar and light blue-green piping at the neckline to bring out a certain breathing room. Layered on the outside is this yellow-green toned plaid apron-style vest, coupled with a white lace choker at the neck, giving an overall refreshing and energetic visual impression. To avoid looking monotonous, various colors of flower-shaped buttons are sewn onto the vest, like a collage of color blocks, subtly echoing Amiya's vibrant personality traits.
In terms of detail reproduction, I paid special attention to the headgear. This pair of long brown rabbit ears (or donkey ears, rather) is the soul of the character. The plush texture is very soft, and when worn on top of the head, the angle needs to be adjusted so that it can stand upright while not easily tilting when walking through the convention crowds. This highly saturated royal blue bow at the base of the ears, paired with red and white small squares, becomes a highly eye-catching embellishment in the entire light-colored outfit, breaking the monotony of the white-and-green color scheme. The blue pixel-art badge on the chest is also a specially selected matching prop; holding it in hand or wearing it on the chest can excellently emphasize the character's identity.
The shooting environment was a very bustling convention scene, where everyone can see the passing crowds and various photography equipment in the background. Taking relatively clean close-ups amidst the crowded streams of people actually highly tests the photographer's candid capture ability. To coordinate with this outdoor natural light, I intentionally adopted a clear base makeup paired with blue-green colored contacts for the face, striving to make the gaze look more fluid and soft while maintaining the three-dimensional contour of the facial features. In terms of photography poses, we also tried different variations, such as opening both hands to display a cheerful side, or lowering the head to rest the chin in the hand to showcase a playful side, aiming to reproduce Amiya's multi-dimensional image of having both leadership qualities and an innocent heart as much as possible.
Additionally, the blue plaid small handbag in Figure 1 is also a shooting prop I really like. Carrying it to perform some hand movements can make the interaction between the character and the environment more natural, and the frame is no longer just purely "displaying the costume," but adds a bit of life-like narrative. I believe anyone who has played this game can recall her stories of moving forward firmly on the Terra continent when seeing this outfit full of youthfulness and intimacy. This time, from costumes and makeup to the photoshoot, we all hoped to use the most fitting visual language to present the appearance of this little leader of Rhodes Island in reality.
