[Reisa Uzawa cosplay] Comicup 31 520 limited memories

I finally found time to organize the Convention photos from my Reisa Uzawa cosplay look on Day 2 of Comicup 31! Spending May 20th (520)—such a special day—together with everyone at the venue felt immensely fulfilling. From styling to props, I wanted to recreate the character's lively dynamism as much as possible, so here I am sharing my convention insights and preparation process.

First up, the wig and makeup. To match the striking light blue tone from the original design, I specially selected a straight light blue long wig with a subtle shimmering texture, trimmed iconic straight bangs across the forehead, and tied low twin-tails on both sides with colorful rubber bands, looking both casual and energetic. The pink hollowed-out hair accessory atop the head is a crucial detail—it must sit at just the right angle to capture the essence of the character. For makeup, I opted for a dewy translucent base paired with light purple contact lenses and pale pink eye shadow, striving to bring that anime translucency and energetic feel into reality.

Next is the carefully coordinated outfit. The main body of this look is a loose-fit deep navy blue long trench coat jacket with a sailor collar, giving off a relaxed yet academic style vibe. The sailor collar and black-and-white dual-color necktie at the neckline are classic features, with a small orange bow knot on the tie serving as a charming finishing touch. Underneath, a white cropped top is paired with a light grey high-waisted pleated skirt, visually elongating lower body proportions. The combination of rainbow socks and pink platform canvas shoes forms the highlight of the lower ensemble—brightly colored, perfectly fitting the character's youthful girlhood aura, and extremely comfortable for walking around the convention venue.

Foot traffic at Comicup 31 was impressive, and the venue atmosphere was as passionate as ever. As a gathering place for anime enthusiasts, walking through the hall filled me with the warmth and enthusiasm of fellow fans everywhere. While taking these photos, the photographer captured moments brilliantly. For instance, that high single-leg lift with one hand raised high pose was an impulse during shooting, but it yielded surprisingly dynamic tension, showcasing the character's vibrant, energetic nature. Additionally, the close-up holding the "challenge note" prop was intended to add fun interactions with passersby—a playful little ritual for breaking the fourth wall at conventions.

Choosing to debut this look on May 20th (520) was also meant to leverage the festive atmosphere to share relaxed, happy vibes with everyone. Prior to putting on this outfit, I did extensive prep work, repeatedly checking everything from wig styling to ironing clothes. Stepping into convention aisles and hearing friends or passersby shout out character nicknames made all the effort completely worth it; these memorable moments enriched the entire cosplay experience with precious highlights.

As a set of Convention photos, I tried my best to recreate this character's outfit details and spirit from Blue Archive. Although outdoor shooting posed minor challenges with gusty winds and shifting light, coordinating with the photographer's lighting and framing produced a result I'm genuinely proud of. Each photo records a snapshot of that moment—whether static standing poses or dynamic snapshots—aiming to convey that clear yet spunky demeanor unique to this character. Anime brings not just visual delight, but a deep passion worth working hard for. I poured 120% effort into this cosplay, striving for perfection from makeup and styling to final photo output.

I'd also like to record the venue layout and environment at Comicup 31. The hall's lighting was actually great for photography—the blend of natural light and indoor convention lights gave the photo set a very translucent quality. Though standing all day was exhausting, doing what I love made everything completely worthwhile. Looking at these photos brings back memories of interacting and taking photos with friends at the hall. That's probably the true charm of anime conventions: bringing characters that originally existed only in imagination into the real world, and sharing that joy with everyone.
