Takanashi Hoshino's Summer swimsuit look from Blue Archive, paired with a light blue sun-protection jacket and a white camisole, perfectly fits the temperature of this summer. Looking back, this is already the first swimsuit cosplay scheduled since summer began. Although the heat was quite intense, taking photos by such a summer-imbued outdoor pool brightens up one's mood instantly.

For this photoshoot, I specifically chose an outdoor pool venue featuring blue mosaic tiles. This refreshing blue tone complements Takanashi Hoshino's original light-colored palette wonderfully, enhancing the crisp summer cooling feel. The glowing halo prop atop my head serves as the soul of this look, refracting a soft white light under the sun and forming a pleasing visual dialogue with the pink pigtails. Red hair ties accenting the pigtails add a striking detail to the soft color scheme, while the blue sunglasses perched overhead serve as both decoration and a fitting practical prop for a poolside setting.

The outfit I wore represents a casual yet homey 2D swimsuit ensemble—a white cropped ruffled top subtly exposing the waistline, layered with a lightweight light blue zippered cardigan that retains the character's signature languid vibe while ensuring refreshing comfort for outdoor shooting. Wearing the jacket half-off the shoulders makes shoulders and arms appear slender and delicate.

The massive blue-and-white inflatable toy used in this shoot was also insanely cute; shaped like a marine creature with a black line smiley face printed on its surface. I spent a long time interacting with it along the pool edge and in the water—sitting by the poolside, hugging it close, or lying across adjacent wooden decking, trying out various poses in turns. This inflatable prop not only enriched visual interest but also helped ease camera nervousness, allowing for a far more relaxed demeanor.

The photographer primarily utilized a bright, large aperture to blur background elements like white sun umbrellas, lush greenery, and distant thatched-roof walls, sharply accentuating the main figure. However, capturing water-based movements required considerable effort. Maintaining elegant leg silhouettes while preventing clothes from soaking and adjusting halo angles required fine-tuning single poses repeatedly. Thankfully, summer is a season meant for unrestrained outdoor Cosplay photography; running through multiple takes to achieve ideal final renders was entirely worth the endeavor.

Throughout cosplaying this character, I placed immense priority on capturing her signature slightly lazy yet playful charm. Consequently, I eschewed overly dramatic posing in favor of conveying mood through gazes, seated postures, and subtle casual gestures—such as standing on one leg by the pool with eyes gently closed to feel the summer breeze, or leaning against the inflatable toy looking into the lens.

For makeup, I selected a sheer, translucent summer look focused on highlighting natural skin texture and lip tones, ensuring three-dimensional facial contours under strong outdoor light without appearing overly heavy. Regarding hair, after putting on the pink pigtails, I lightly groomed the bangs and sideburns to achieve a natural, wind-blown tousled texture.

Beyond the core costume, I prepared alternative footwear options. For standing and crouching poses, I wore white platform sandals with blue trims, while removing them near the pool edge to foster an intimate, water-touching atmosphere. Differing pairings yielded distinctly varied visual textures: sandals lent a casual, everyday flavor, while bare feet grounded the styling directly into the poolside context.

Overall, this summer outdoor swimsuit shooting plan proceeded remarkably smoothly. Scene construction and supportive props faithfully reconstructed the character's relaxed ambiance during summer leisure hours. With summer only partially underway, engaging in Cosplay photography under sunlight by the pool proves genuinely therapeutic. I hope these final images inspire everyone with a sudden urge to embark on a beach vacation. Reviewing raw shots post-shoot revealed stellar condition, light-and-shadow dynamics, rewarding our efforts braving the searing summer heat for outdoor locations.
