This Zenless Zone Zero Angels of Delusion cosplay photoshoot is finally meeting everyone. Partnering with Huaxunxun to bring out this duo cosplay, both the preliminary preparations and the on-site shooting process were extremely interesting. This time I am portraying Aria; my pink twin tails feature blue-green highlights on the inner side, while the over-ear headphones and the massive blue-green bow and star-shaped bag on the chest serve as visual focal points. Huaxunxun portrays Sunna, featuring mint green curly hair paired with heart-shaped sunglasses, a white-and-pink color-blocked skirt accompanied by small wings on the back, overall leaning toward a light and cute style.
To make the photos present an even better effect, we did a lot of homework regarding the selection of costume materials. The costumes generally feature a white base; Aria's skirt is embellished with orange, black, and blue-green stripes and color blocks, the orange belt at the waist performs a fantastic waist-cinching function, and paired with thick-soled white boots and a blue-green bow, it visually elongates the leg proportions. Sunna's costume incorporates pink and red elements, with meticulous color-blocking treatment applied to the shoulder straps and arm sleeves, and the pink platform boots fit the overall girlish vibe exceptionally well. We found a white long-plush carpet inside the venue as a backdrop, hoping to cultivate a contrast that is soft yet possesses a stage-like feel.
The venue lighting on the shooting day was actually quite complex, with numerous arranged lights overhead. To avoid messy backgrounds, the photographer utilized a large-aperture lens, cooperating with on-site bokeh effects to make both of us stand out more prominently in the frame. To avoid stiffness, we incorporated many interactive elements into our pose design. For instance, during seated shots, I would hold my own pink-haired chibi doll, while Huaxunxun would hold her green-haired doll, which not only enriched the frame composition but also enhanced the characters' sense of interaction. During standing shots, we chose to hold hands while each lifting one leg, utilizing the fluttering sensation of the skirts to make the overall frame look more lively and dynamic. This outfit has a relatively large number of skirt layers, requiring deliberate arrangement when moving around and striking poses to ensure the best form is displayed before the lens.
As performers of this Angels of Delusion duo, being able to present Aria and Sunna in a duo format is a deeply fulfilling matter. Doing cosplay together with two people allows us not only to help each other adjust costumes and hairstyles during shoot breaks but also to spark more creative ideas when designing poses. Because the characters' color schemes and styles share a certain resonance, the frames featuring both of us in the same shot look exceptionally harmonious in terms of color. Shooting convention convention photos differs from formal photoshoots as it often requires adjusting one's state in a short amount of time; I am also deeply grateful for my partner's cooperation and the photographer's candid captures, recording the most natural state of the shooting day.
