[Ryuge Kisaki cosplay] Blue Archive Sunglasses & Cheongsam Cosplay Photoshoot

This time, we shot Ryuge Kisaki from Blue Archive. Her iconic line, "Show me what you've got," had been playing in my mind for a long time, and I finally got the chance to bring this imposing character into the studio. For today's set of photos, my goal was not only to replicate her appearance, but also to capture that composed, effortless vibe, delivering a sense of confidence blended with playful charisma.

Let's start with the hair and makeup. The dark blue wig was specially styled into unique double buns, paired with a silver-white crescent hair crown on top, making it instantly recognizable visually. Styling this haircut was actually quite time-consuming; many bobby pins were hidden inside just to maintain the fullness and three-dimensionality of the outer shape without collapsing. For makeup, the most eye-catching part was the blue contact lenses, which directly conveyed the character's mystery. Combined with the deliberate red blending around the eyes, it made her gaze look deeper. The red lipstick brightened the overall skin tone, balancing the dark attire. The sunglasses are the soul accessory of this look—not just a decoration, but a key prop for character building. The moment the sunglasses are pulled down in a close-up shot, the viewer's focus is immediately locked on the gaze.

As for the outfit, this modified dark blue cheongsam with black stockings is very refined. The fabric features delicate jacquard patterns, giving it a premium texture that doesn't reflect light cheaply. A golden dragon pattern snakes down from the chest along the side, possessing both traditional charm and a powerful presence. The lake-blue frog buttons detailing the neckline provide a great color contrast, breaking the monotony of the dark hue. To fit the atmosphere of this shoot, I also draped a pinstriped suit jacket over my shoulders, adding an off-duty, casual sleekness. The high-slit design paired with black stockings and black high heels is a very eye-catching part of this outfit, nicely elongating the leg line on camera and enhancing the overall aura. To add a bit of "storytelling," I prepared a hard black briefcase at my feet, lending a mysterious agent-like atmosphere to the frame.

During the shoot, the most challenging part was managing bodily posture. Because of the fitted cheongsam, walking or standing without upright posture looks cramped, but forcing it too much makes it rigid. I tried various poses, such as putting one hand on my hip, gently adjusting my hair, or pulling down the rim of the sunglasses like in the second close-up. The photographer was extremely professional, using light and shadow with great delicacy—the key light on my face was soft without being hard, and rim lighting was intentionally used to outline my hair and outfit. In close-up shots, we focused on controlling eye expressions; that motion of slightly looking up while lowering the lenses instantly maxes out the character's aura.

As a cosplayer, I've always felt that details determine the quality of the final photos. From the direction of the wig strands to the extent of eye makeup blending, to the smoothness of the fabric, no step could be overlooked. Shooting Ryuge Kisaki this time, I intentionally slowed down my pace to feel her character—unhurried, calm, composed, and taking everything in stride. So in front of the lens, I tried to set aside my usual restlessness and use a more relaxed posture to project that sense of overall control. Although wearing the complete outfit was actually quite exhausting—requiring me to keep my back straight the entire time—the moment I saw the preview images in the viewfinder, the sense of accomplishment immediately wiped away all fatigue.

The color tone of the final images matched our concept perfectly: the combination of dark blue and gold against a muted gray background looked exceptionally refined. This shoot was not just a visual representation, but an exploration of the character's inner self. The visual effect brought by this costume and makeup is truly unique, blending traditional elegance with modern ACG coolness. Being able to capture such an immersive roleplay experience through the lens makes me truly happy. I hope this set of photos allows everyone who sees it to feel Ryuge Kisaki's unique composure and confidence.
