This set of photos has finally been sorted out. The experience of this cosplay photoshoot can be described as painful yet joyful. My costume styling is Skadi the Corrupting Heart from Arknights. The red and black color tones of this outfit are highly distinct. To faithfully recreate the setting as much as possible, a lot of complex patchwork and lacing craftsmanship were done on the costume. Paired with that uniquely shaped pointed hat, putting it on instantly brought out the mystery that the character should possess. Combined with this silver-white wig, the texture of the overall look was basically maximized. To enhance the effect, I also specially customized this complexly shaped staff as a prop; its metallic cross structure at the top and unique mechanical design truly added a lot to this set of photos.

We chose a tidal mudflat after the tide receded as our shooting location. The ground was entirely covered in wet mud and reefs of all sizes. This environment was highly primitive, carrying a desolation reminiscent of a post-apocalyptic wasteland, which perfectly complemented the character's temperament. Although the setting was fantastic, the shooting process was indeed very arduous. Climbing and posing in this gear on these uneven, slippery rocks was highly difficult; with cold muddy water beneath my feet, losing balance could happen with the slightest carelessness. However, the first picture is our proud masterpiece shot during twilight, where the blue-purple sky and the red glow on the horizon formed an incredibly beautiful gradient backdrop. The photographer cleverly used a strong strobe light to illuminate the figure, making me stand out clearly against the dark sky background, which actually heavily tested the lighting technique in this anime cosplay session.

After the sky turned completely dark, we began to experiment with different lighting atmospheres. In the scene of the second picture, everyone can see a completely different side. On the pitch-black beach, we used a single beam of red light source to illuminate the whole body. The stern red light reflected off the slippery rock surfaces, throwing mottled light and shadow, and this enchanting yet dangerous feeling perfectly fit the character setting. By the next morning, the sky regained its clarity. Figure 3 was shot while I sat on a massive boulder; with the pure blue sky as a backdrop, the color of the costume and the texture details of the props can be seen very clearly in this beach photography experience.

Of course, the most breathtaking part of this set of photos remains the backlit moments. Figure 4 was taken when the sun was at a very low angle, where the massive backlighting dyed the entire frame into a brilliant golden yellow. The lens flare generated by the strong light enveloped the figure. This lighting effect is highly difficult to control, but the captured atmosphere is unparalleled. We shot quite a few photos back and forth in this scene just to capture the perfect lighting alignment that lasted only dozens of seconds.

Overall, this set of Skadi the Corrupting Heart official photos is not just a standard cosplay shoot, but feels more like a photography experiment against the environment. Every location choice and every strobe control required close cooperation with the photographer. Although I was covered in mud and seawater, seeing these final photos makes me feel all the hard work was completely worth it. What I'm posting this time is just a portion of the pictures; more angles from the cosplay photoshoot will come out later, so please stay tuned.
