Actually, when planning this set of photos, I was constantly envisioning how to combine the fresh, natural feel of the Dendro Archon herself in Genshin Impact with a romantic and soft bridal style. Everyone is very familiar with Nahida's daily image; that breath of fresh green is her most prominent characteristic. This time, changing into a light tulle gown with a slightly gown-like design, complemented by a pearl necklace and a pure white bouquet in hand, adds a unique touch of lightness on the basis of maintaining the original character elements.
A great deal of thought went into everything from the handling of makeup and styling details to the choice of clothing materials. The white wig easily overexposes under strong light, so the photographer deliberately used a softer backlighting approach this time. The green leaf crown on top of the head is hand-woven, simulating the natural growth state of plants, and a little clever thought was also used in handling the edges of these elf ears props to make them blend more naturally with the hairstyle. The vine binding decorations on the arms and thighs are meant to echo the iconic plant element characteristics of Nahida, hoping to visually create an illusion of being surrounded by natural plants.
The studio was chosen perfectly; the thick moss on the ground combined with the white Roman pillars on both sides structured a miniature forest secret realm with a very oil-painting-like texture. The lighting setup on-site was highly meticulous, utilizing a large-range yellow-green gradient light source for the background. This lighting not only turned the atmosphere of the entire scene up to the max but also cast a gorgeous rim light around the model's head and hair strands, accentuating the whole person to look even more ethereal. During the shoot, the photographer caught the light angles quite accurately, especially the side-backlight position, which completely brought out the semi-transparent, delicate texture of the light tulle clothing.
Personally, I think the difficulty of this outfit lies in how to present that feeling of being sacred yet approachable through posture and expression. As the Dendro Archon, Nahida's setting contains both the serenity of a deity and the innocence of a child, so I tried my best to relax my neck and shoulders in front of the lens, using a relatively relaxed crouching posture to catch the shots. Fortunately, the photographer's guidance was also very smooth, and plus the environment arrangement in the studio was relatively warm, the image success rate of this cosplay photoshoot was much higher than expected.
This shoot leans more toward exploring a specific form of the character, rather than completely copying the fixed movements within the game, instead adjusting according to the real scene here. For example, utilizing the posture of holding the bouquet to block a part of the chest area, letting the focus of the image concentrate more on the expressions of the upper body and the glowing headpiece. The overall tone is controlled within layers of white, green, and a bit of pale yellow, preventing miscellaneous colors from snatching the visual center. The tulle material of the skirt hem has a beautiful drape, and its state scattered over the moss integrates wonderfully with the surrounding plants, giving a natural feel just like sitting in one's own backyard. You could say that this set of final photos achieved the ideal bridal style Dendro Archon effect in my mind regarding light and shadow texture, making it a very pleasant studio attempt at anime-style photography.
