Bringing this "Dance Till Dawn" set from Infinity Nikki from concept to final photos indeed took a whole year. The preparation during this period included interfacing with the tailor myself, repeatedly refining the clothing pattern and material choices, specially asking a friend to help make and trim the wig, while booking the model and locking down the location for the travel shoot. Walking through this entire workflow, every step was handled separately, so this cosplay photoshoot is exceptionally meaningful and memorable to me.

The design of the look itself heavily emphasizes a sense of lightness under the illumination of light. The light blue and white color-blocked skirt hem utilizes multiple layers of sheer tulle stacked together, showing excellent depth under strong light. The blue-and-yellow checkered bow and red-and-white striped ribbon at the waist serve as bright highlights, preventing the vast areas of light colors from looking dull. The balloon streamers use a semi-transparent sheer material, trailing long dynamic lines when the wind blows, which forms a highly harmonious visual color structure when paired with the pink balloons.

Regarding the wig, my friend was incredibly meticulous with the trimming and styling. It had to ensure a fluffy curvature without looking too bulky. The gradient of the hair color extends from the pink at the crown all the way to the ends, leaving a touch of layered pink at the very tips, achieving a very high fidelity to the original design. The makeup follows a clean, clear, and transparent route with a natural base that highlights the eye contours. The lip color is a natural nude orange, making the overall complexion look very soft when caught by the sunshine.

The venue for the travel shoot was a natural Sky Mirror, where the calm water surface creates a perfect mirror effect. The live visual impact was actually even stronger than what was captured by the camera. The weather was highly cooperative that day, with blue skies, white clouds, and distant mountain ranges; the reflection on the water joined heaven and earth into one seamless expanse. The model's positioning required leaving just the right amount of space with the water surface, trying to maintain symmetry between the reflection and the real scene in the frame.

Since this is just a teaser, I am releasing a set of images first to showcase the basic temperament of this look. During the shoot, we experimented with different poses such as standing, sitting, and even lying down, with the form of the skirt hem and streamers varying in each state. Standing on the water for a long time was indeed a test of physical stamina, but the moment I saw the final results of the cosplay photoshoot, I felt all the prior hardships were entirely worth it.

Coordinating all the links from customizing the clothes to completing this cosplay photoshoot truly tested our planning. When packing luggage for a long-distance travel shoot, we had to carry not only the costume and wig but also various spare props, and hauling big and small bags back and forth was quite grueling. But seeing the fusion of the costume and the background in the photos makes all this effort feel meaningful. Doing cosplay means finding a path to materialize 2D designs in reality, using distinct materials and light environments to reinterpret them. This attempt at "Dance Till Dawn" will serve as a highly significant work record for me this year.
