Who is there to share the passing years as spring returns, while the brilliant peach blossoms sway like shifting threads? This photoset was completed in a cherry blossom garden in Chongqing, perfectly catching the peak blooming season. That day, the mountains and fields of pinkish-white flower clusters covered more than half the sky, providing a natural and breathtaking pink softbox for the outdoor shoot. This formal photoset is actually a throwback to old photos from years ago; at that time I portrayed Jinhsi from Wuthering Waves, specifically in her exceptionally lightweight pink-themed skin.

Since it was a cherry blossom theme, the overall makeup and hair styling were naturally simplified. I chose a wig with strong transparency, with a faint cherry blossom pink gradient treatment applied to the ends, and then dotted it with a few small flowers from the headpieces, striving to visually echo the cherry blossoms in the background and blend the person seamlessly into the scene. The neckline features an off-the-shoulder design, paired with lightweight ribbons and wide lantern sleeves; the interwoven pink and white color scheme gives the entire garment an excellent drape and sense of layering. For the action shots, the photographer and I agreed to avoid overly complex postures, relying primarily on the gentle breeze and the clothing's inherent elegance to deliver the desired effects.

During the shoot, the wind direction in Chongqing happened to be wonderful. For instance, my personal favorite is photo 4; at that moment, my arms were naturally curved, and the long twin ponytails on both sides were lifted by the wind, forming a graceful, extended arc that blended with the background cherry blossoms—which were blurred into pink bokeh by a large aperture. The entire frame carries both the cool detachment of Anime-style photography and a touch of spring-limited gentleness. There is also that frame of closing my eyes and reaching out to feel the wind; it was actually quite a difficult candid capture. The light needed to flow between the hair strands and the skirt hem, and to be able to perfectly freeze this breathing room requires true gratitude to the photographer who patiently adjusted everything on-site.

Many passersby might think a Cosplay photoshoot is just about putting on clothes and makeup, but behind every outdoor shoot is a massive amount of early preparation and on-site adaptation. For instance, the spring weather in Chongqing is actually somewhat unpredictable. Although the sunlight was great on the day of the shoot, the light inside the blossom forest shifted incredibly fast. We often had to rush to click the shutter in those brief seconds before the cloud layer blocked the sun, and this uncertainty actually gave the finished photos a touch of natural texture. In post-processing, we didn't make too many surreal modifications; we mainly tried our best to maintain the original light and shadow structure, only adjusting the color temperature slightly toward a warm pink tone to enhance the clarity of the shadows, ensuring a clean and soft turnout.

As a cosoper, the best work isn't necessarily the most complex or magnificent one, but rather the one that can capture the exact moment the character resonates with the surrounding environment. Although looking back at these old photos several years later shows a state that might still carry a little bit of greenness, it is precisely this authenticity that draws closer to the most pure, original passion for anime culture and cosplay. This sharing serves as a storage archive for that flashing spring memory. No matter what new works I release or what new games I play in the future, being able to bring a beloved character to life beneath the real-world cherry blossom trees is a deeply meaningful thing in itself as a Cherry blossom portrait.
