Shooting this Wuthering Waves Hiyuki cosplay photo set took a lot of thought in conceiving the scenes and props. During editing, due to screen color differentiation issues, I repeatedly adjusted it for a long time. I used to use a certain screen for editing, and after grading, the tones always felt off when viewed on a phone. This time I changed devices and re-calibrated, feeling that color accuracy is truly important. Seeing Hiyuki's iconic white hair and red eyes finally showcasing that agility under real light in the final images gives me a great sense of achievement.

The details of this costume are incredibly rich. The white-based, red-bordered Japanese-style clothing, coupled with an off-the-shoulder cut and an inner corset design, is very particular about outlining body lines. There are also very detailed accessories at the waist, including patterned belts and ties, and the combination of leg straps and cloth bands enhances the overall layered feel. The silver-white wig was meticulously trimmed, and the hair ornaments are studded with golden decorations, echoing the golden bell pendants worn on the hands. In terms of props, we prepared a paper umbrella and sake. The moment of picking up the small sake cup and the posture of leaning back on the floor while holding the paper umbrella both blend quite naturally into the Japanese tatami scene.

During the shoot, the indoor light created a soft diffuse reflection through the paper sliding doors, making the tone of the entire set look exceptionally warm. In such light and shadow, the red-and-white clothing possesses both classical charm and the unique refinement characteristic of modern 2D characters. Actually, relaxing in front of the lens is very important. While curled up on the tatami, I explored a few angles myself and found that utilizing the sake bottle and cup as a foreground could beautifully enhance the frame's narrative feel. The shot holding the paper umbrella was intended to present a slightly playful and lazy atmosphere.

I feel the photographer and the makeup/styling artists put a lot of effort into this piece. Recreating that cool yet slightly gentle temperament inherent to Hiyuki is a wonderful thing. This cosplay photoshoot serves as my sincere presentation of this character from Wuthering Waves through Anime-style photography.
