A lot of thought indeed went into the details of this Robin costume. Although the main color scheme is classic cool white and light blue, the star-shaped metal accessories at the collar, the detached blue sleeves, and the trim of the white gloves all make the character's layering more three-dimensional. During the shoot, we specially chose this indoor scene featuring its own Gothic arches and Roman columns, with the floor covered in champagne and deep blue velvet. This backdrop of interwoven warm and cold tones effectively grounds the floating feel of the light-colored clothing while highlighting the character's cool and sacred temperament.
The photographer was very creative with the lighting, heavily utilizing backlighting and side-backlighting, and later adding scattered bokeh special effects in post-production. The blue glowing bird suspended in the air required us to estimate its position and the scale of our movements in advance during the shoot to facilitate post-production compositing and stitching. The rendering of this ethereal effect highly relies on the precision of the early composition. Besides the magic bird prop, the white vintage hollowed-out lantern is also a finishing touch. It contains an internally glowing blue bouquet; carrying it in hand combined with eye contact instantly brings out a starry sky magical girl atmosphere.
In fact, when shooting characters with mythological or magical elements like this, conveying the expression is far more important than simply striking a restored pose. Whether it's the contemplative look while leaning with the vintage lantern or the eye contact holding the picture frame mirror, the eyes need to have a certain sense of extension and cannot be too rigid. The top-down close-up while lying down and the backward glance while kneeling look like casual movements, but they actually place high demands on body muscle control—one must keep the character's lines stretched while remaining relaxed. Fortunately, the makeup that day was clean and translucent enough, adorned with starry eye makeup that perfectly matched the light blue wig, making the overall shooting progress very smooth.
