As Feixiao, embodying the setting of the Three-No General, the core lies in grasping that cold aloofness and decisiveness. When I received this cosplay costume, I was captivated by this deep cyan-blue and pure white color palette. From the sleeveless Mandarin collar design to the metallic ornaments embedded on the chest, every cut radiates efficiency and refinement. To support this pair of iconic, massive white beast ears, I put a lot of thought into the base support, ensuring they maintain a fluffy and natural curve even in complex outdoor environments.
Regarding the makeup, these ice-blue colored contacts required a sufficient depth of eye makeup to balance them. I intentionally elongated the eyeliner and subtly highlighted the brow bone to make my gaze look more focused and indifferent. Combined with that slender golden diamond mark on my forehead, a piercingly cold vibe was instantly achieved. Only an aggressive makeup style like this does justice to the phrase, "No worries, no regrets, no rivals."
This longsword prop serves as the visual centerpiece; its pommel is carved with intricate golden patterns, and the blade showcases a gradient texture transitioning from ice-blue to semi-translucent. Since I needed to perform various dynamic sword-swinging poses outdoors, I specially adjusted the prop's internal structure before the shoot to reduce its overall weight. The sharp reflective effect of the blade cutting through the sunlight at various angles was incredibly eye-catching, giving the photos a stronger narrative tension.
The shooting location was chosen in a classical Chinese garden steeped in rich traditional charm. The blue bricks, white walls, and vermilion-painted pillars formed a stark contrast with Feixiao's primary blue and white color scheme. The outdoor natural light was quite soft. Under this light and shadow, the extremely fine gold-stamped patterns on the costume and the metallic reflections of the openwork belt were beautifully captured. I specifically designed several poses of holding the sword and looking up, combining them with a slightly lowered center of gravity, utilizing lens perspective to exaggerate the contrast between the weapon in hand and the character's posture, filling the frame with a sense of oppression and power.
Portraying this character, the hardest part isn't the outer shell, but that unhurried inner aura. During the shoot, I tried my best to adjust my breathing and discard redundant emotions, allowing myself to completely become the character the moment the shutter clicked. Every step of this cosplay photoshoot, from defining the tone of makeup and styling to blocking and lighting, was carefully considered. The final effect successfully retains the distinctive features of the 2D character while beautifully blending in the charm of Chinese-style photography scenes.
