[Haniyasushin Keiki cosplay] Wuhan THO: Happy Memories from Touhou Only 09 (Hanaegetsu)

This Haniyasushin Keiki cosplay set was captured on-site at Wuhan THO Touhou Only 09 (Hanaegetsu). Attending a Touhou Only event for the first time, the overall atmosphere surpassed all my expectations, with fellow fans being extraordinarily welcoming. Regarding the styling, for makeup I chose a luminous, translucent base paired with vibrant red contact lenses, which, combined with striking bright blue short hair and a green-and-yellow patterned headband, delivers immediate visual impact at first glance. For the costume, a yellow inner top complements the deep green apron-dress; the pleated texture along the skirt hem, bright blue pockets, and gold lace-trimmed cuffs give the entire ensemble fantastic tactile quality. It didn't feel overly heavy when worn, yet had a substantial, well-structured weight. As the signature soul prop of this cosplay, the sculpting pens in my hand and their accompanying gestures were absolutely crucial. During the shoot, I experimented with various poses—such as holding the pens with crossed hands or extending one hand forward to point—hoping to project that unique blend of playful whimsy and mastercraft professionalism inherent to the character. Beyond outdoor portraits, we also snapped commemorative photos in front of indoor booths. Seeing that massive yellow plushie in the first picture, surrounded by piles of handcrafted plush creations from fellow fans, was genuinely heartwarming and healing. Although I was too busy browsing artist booths and meeting new friends to take many close-up portraits, every single fan I met made me feel coming here was the best decision. Friends around me praised how faithfully the look captured the character, which was the greatest affirmation of all the hard work put into preparing this cosplay. Throughout the event, I also admired so much incredible Touhou Project fan-made merchandise. While I usually interact online, being able to experience the themed atmosphere of Touhou Only 09 (Hanaegetsu) in person in Wuhan—gathering with fellow Touhou Project enthusiasts from all over to chat about characters and lore—was the happiest part of the entire event for me. The outdoor sunlight was lovely, resulting in very natural light and shadow across the photos. Sincere thanks to the friend who snapped the shutter that day for catching those fleeting moments so promptly. This leaves me eagerly anticipating the next Touhou Only event; I hope there will be many more opportunities like this ahead to meet everyone in costume and share our enduring passion for the Touhou Project series.
