For this Xiamen Golden Dolphin Anime Convention, I made an appearance as Gensokyo's strongest Ice Fairy—Cirno. To recreate this classic character, I prepared far in advance. The wig I chose is a matte ice-blue material, trimmed with her iconic blunt bangs and ahoge, and the large bow on top of my head was custom-made by hand using a stiffer fabric to maintain its three-dimensional shape. The blue jumper dress is the highlight; besides creating fluffy pleats, a layer of white tulle petticoat was added inside the hem so that whether standing or sitting, the skirt can flare out naturally, presenting a lightweight fairytale feel. The red bowtie and white ruffled shirt are Cirno's classic combination, and the lace trim on the collar was also carefully selected to make the overall look more delicate. The ice crystal wings on my back were made of transparent acrylic and blue reflective film, creating a subtle reflection under the convention hall lights. Although they are a bit heavy to wear, it was totally worth it for the visual effect. For makeup, I chose light blue colored contact lenses to match the hair color, focused on enlarging the eyes, and used a pinkish blush along with a clear lip color, aiming to create a youthful and slightly playful temperament. During the live shoot, the coordination with the photographer was seamless. Several poses in the photos simulate the character's personality—such as putting hands on hips to prove I'm not a fool, or sitting on the ground with my chin in my hands dazing off, as well as that tsundere expression saying "I'll freeze you!" I'm quite satisfied with them myself. Although the venue lighting was complex, the photographer beautifully captured the layers of light, bringing out the texture of the costume. This outfit turned heads as I walked around the convention, and many fellow fans recognized me as Cirno from Touhou Project, and I even received quite a few lollipops (laughs). But don't forget, I really am the strongest in Gensokyo! The atmosphere at this Golden Dolphin event was great, and I had a blast. I hope to have more opportunities for convention photography to capture more fun moments of Cirno in the future, continuing to portray that innocent yet stubborn fairy temperament through anime cosplay.
