Doing Robin cosplay this time was truly quite a big challenge, especially with this complex set of wings and skirt hem. The blue and purple gradient wig paired with the halo and feather hair accessories on the head has a lot of details. To restore that lightweight, dreamlike feeling, just adjusting the support structure of the wings took quite a lot of time. A large amount of pearlescent and translucent materials were used on the costume, which makes it easy to reflect light and overexpose under the complex lighting at the convention venue. However, the photographer was great at catching angles, capturing the layers of the skirt hem and the metal decorations on the chest very clearly.
The two photos of standing and sitting postures were actually candid shots taken during gaps in the set arrangement. The studio lights and staff members in the background were actually quite messy, but after being blurred out by the large aperture, it instead highlighted the subjecthood of the character. The boots were also specially chosen with thick platform chunky heels; my feet were truly tired after standing for so long, but I endured it to maintain that tall and elegant visual effect.
What I'm most satisfied with about these convention photos is the control over expressions and gestures, staying as close as possible to Robin's gentle and approachable temperament. I hope this set of photos can make everyone feel the charm of this character. Although there were many onlookers at the scene, when focusing entirely on the character, I could indeed experience that immersive feeling of 'If I can stop one heart from breaking.' The meaning of cosplay probably lies in briefly bringing the beauty from the 2D world on screen into reality.
