Day 1 of Firefly ACG Expo has finally wrapped up, with the click of shutters and the bustle of the crowd still echoing in my ears. This time, I brought out a \"dark yet elegant\" style Xiao Qiao Cosplay from Honor of Kings. Finding a cool-toned outdoor corner amidst the warm-lit exhibition hall, I captured this set of photos that I am personally thrilled with.

Regarding the styling concept, the core idea was an ultimate collision between sweetness and dark aesthetic. The pink wig overhead was styled into neat twin buns, incorporating braids and layered black-and-white feather hair ornaments, which, together with pointed elf ears, visually elongated my face shape. The makeup emphasized deep, dimensional eyes, especially the black diamond decal under my left eye, instantly maxing out the character's fierce presence. Shooting with a wide-angle low angle worked wonderfully to capture that aura-packed, dynamic charm.

As for outfit details, the white mini-skirt features star patterns and golden trim, with delicate lace edging along the lining that balances elegance and playfulness. The real highlights of this piece are the accessories with rich, tactile textures. First is the pair of glossy black leather detached arm sleeves studded with metallic rivets, creating a striking matte-versus-highlight contrast that catches the light beautifully. Second is the large fan constructed from multi-colored feathers—blue, purple, and black feathers layered over a silver-white metal frame, giving it a substantial weight in hand. To fit the theme, I also added a dramatic black feather trailing train and shawl; as I moved, the fluttering feathers created an elegant yet subtly untamed beauty.

This Cosplay photography session at the Guangzhou Anime Convention experimented extensively with composition and location selection. The photographer utilized high-brightness LED ice light bars; since ambient light was evening natural light, this cool-toned fill lighting rendered a remarkably clean, crisp, and high-end aesthetic. I particularly love the shot where I sit on a high stool, as that posture beautifully showcases full leg details. Over-the-knee black boots paired with vibrant pink cross-straps and white lace trim near the hem create rich visual layering. Holding the heavy feather fan while managing the long train so it didn't look messy was physically demanding—especially outdoors, where wind blew the huge feather fan out of shape, requiring quick pose adjustments to keep the fan fully displayed.

The convention atmosphere was truly wonderful, surrounded by fellow ACG enthusiasts. Though Guangzhou's weather was rather muggy on shoot day, everyone pushed through to complete the shoot. Massive thanks to photographer NightDiva for capturing the moments and directing, as well as the support crew for fixing my skirt hem and checking feather placement. Adjusting facial expressions took quite some time—for a \"dark and elegant\" theme, the outfit alone isn't enough; the eyes must be sharp and resolute, avoiding cloying sweetness in favor of a subtle, icy pride. I believe great cosplay isn't just about costume swapping, but conveying the character's inner personality tension before the camera.

After finishing the shoot, I'm already considering what style to explore next. The feather fan prop, black leather detached sleeves, high boots, and strap pairings proved quite practical for live convention wear while yielding an incredible head-turning rate at the venue. Throughout the session, we discussed lighting angles with the photographer, balancing softbox and hard light ratios. For post-processing, we avoided excessive skin smoothing to retain skin texture, keeping the makeup dimensional while faithfully preserving the site's mysterious, cool-toned mood. Heart and soul went into recreating every piece of makeup and costume detail for this Xiao Qiao Cosplay—I hope this fresh take brings everyone a unique visual experience!
