[Robin Cosplay] Heavenly Voice in Honkai: Star Rail

Walking into the Tianfu Red convention hall, the air was filled with a mix of music from various booths and chatter from the crowd. I put on this Robin outfit and, in an environment slightly noisy yet brimming with an anime atmosphere, searched for a quiet corner to capture the character's demeanor. Preparing the costume and props for Robin took quite some time, especially the floating golden halo atop my head, which took a lot of effort to adjust its support structure—it needed to look as if floating naturally while not being too heavy to impede head movements. The wig was a pale lavender purple that showed a slight cool sheen under the venue's fluorescent lights, and the neatly trimmed bangs framed the eyes nicely. The contact lenses chosen were ice blue, creating a vibrant cold-warm contrast with the deep red star-shaped glitter under the eyes. Such small detail accents are particularly vital to capturing Robin's mysterious yet sweet demeanor.

I was extremely satisfied with the costume's texture this time. The white tube-top base dress paired with a dark blue-purple lapel collar and those signature small ear-side wings overall presented a lightweight, bird-like grace. The biggest highlight was undoubtedly the two wide layers of dark blue-purple bow cuffs on the arms, embedded with small golden stars and crescent moon metal buckles, offering a wonderful drape that visually elongated arm lines when paired with long white gloves. The skirt featured an asymmetrical spliced design, with the outer white gauze outlined in purple stitch lines, fluttering gently when walking. The White stockings worn on the legs not only added depth to the look, but also made the overall color palette look lighter and softer, perfectly suited for the high-brightness environment of the convention.

This shoot was all thanks to photographer Ah Si, whom I booked for Convention photography—he really understands how to capture these lively, nimble moments. Since Robin is designed as a young girl who loves singing out loud in Penacony, I specially prepared many expansive body movements. As we walked back and forth along the corridors of Tianfu Red, he used a wide aperture to blur out passing crowds in the background, focusing attention entirely on me and the outfit. In the turning-around shot, he caught the exact split-second he called out to me: the curve of the hair, natural hand positioning, and even the movement in my gaze were wonderfully recorded. Under sunlight or convention overhead lights, the white parts of this dress looked exceptionally brilliant, making the whole person look as if emitting a halo.

After taking off the outfit post-shoot, I felt deeply moved. Robin's singing in the game is always accompanied by a dreamlike quality, and recreating this dreaminess in real life requires not just piling up costumes, but mutual trust and coordination between both sides of the lens. I'm immensely grateful for the care Ah Si put into this photo set—the composition and lighting arrangements in many photos were highly professional. Though the convention hall had people coming and going with ordinary visitors and stalls in the background, the moment I stood before the camera, I instantly entered the character's state. I love this fleeting immersion away from daily life, and enjoy even more using meticulously prepared styling to cross the fourth wall and meet the virtual characters everyone loves. This set of Robin convention photos from Tianfu Red stands as one of my most satisfying cosplay efforts recently—packed with details, with no over-editing in post-processing, preserving the most authentic light, shadow, and texture from the shoot.
