I took a few Hu Tao cosplay photos at the convention and selected a few satisfying ones to archive. This outfit design is very eye-catching, featuring a red, black, and white color scheme paired with white ruffles and purple tassel ornaments, creating vibrant color contrast. Lighting at conventions can be chaotic, but by taking advantage of railings and natural light, the final shots can rival studio shoots.

The structure of the costume is quite complex, with the most eye-catching feature being the oversized pleated ruffle hat. Its advantage is that it can either be worn on the head to create a strong visual focus or held as a hand prop. During the shoot, we tried half-body shots wearing the hat as well as full-body shots holding it. That captured shot with one leg lifted and both hands tweaking the brim shows a relaxed posture, where the white long socks and black Mary Jane shoes enhance the leg lines. To convey a sense of agility, the photographer suggested shifting my weight to one leg, letting the body form a subtle S-curve while floating sleeve tails added dynamic movement to the frame.

Aside from full-body photos, I also really like the close-ups and half-body shots. The white ruffled collar is not only an iconic element but also makes the face look smaller. During close-up shots, I focused entirely on my eyes; paired with a slightly lowered head posture, the red eyeshadow and contact lenses looked very natural in natural light. The purple tassel earrings are detailed accessories that swing freely with gravity as I walk or bow my head, perfectly breaking up the monotony of large red areas in the frame.

One difficult aspect of Cosplay convention photos is managing the cluttered crowd in the background. During shooting, we specifically looked for spots near railings, utilizing the architecture's depth to create separation. As for exposure, we didn't intentionally suppress highlights, preserving the bright, sun-dappled glow instead. This slightly dreamy lens flare effect surprisingly matched the character's slightly mysterious yet lively demeanor. The detachable sleeve design allowed for flexible upper body movements without restricting arm poses.

Shooting convention photos relies heavily on finding light on the fly. This photo set mainly utilized side backlighting, creating rim light along the hair edges and bright catchlights in the eyes. I really enjoy taking photos that leverage the surrounding environment—while not as precisely controlled as professional studio lights, they excel in genuine atmosphere, making it feel as though the character actually visited the anime convention.

The high-slit skirt and elongated sleeve tails provided rich visual layers during movement. The only drawback was that the delicate fabric required extra care in crowded areas to avoid stepping on the white gloves and tassels, as they dirtied easily. However, given how well the photos turned out, these minor maintenance hassles were totally acceptable. Looking back at these pictures, whether playful dynamic moments or quiet close-ups, they captured Genshin Impact cosplay charm faithfully. I am quite satisfied with the overall execution of this look, and being able to capture such natural, relaxed states in Convention photography made for a genuinely joyful shoot.
