This time, I challenged myself with Miku Nakano from The Quintessential Quintuplets, intentionally choosing a casual loungewear outfit to restore her lazy and slightly dorky state in games or broadcasts. The wig is the classic brick-red long straight hair. To fit Miku's slightly messy yet smooth texture, I gave the ends a light, layered trim. After putting on the cat ear props, the fluffiness on top required extra hairspray for styling to maintain a natural look without collapsing. The blue colored contact lenses are key to recreating the character's gaze. Miku's eye color leans toward a bright lake blue, so I picked a pair with a moderate diameter, which doesn't look too exaggerated while giving her gaze a translucent, light-catching feel under indoor lighting.

Headphones are an indispensable soul item. I chose a pair of vintage over-ear headphones with a black frame and blue rings; hanging them around the neck or wearing them on the head both offer different vibes. During the shoot, I intentionally let the headphones slide down slightly, matching a tilted head angle to recreate her introverted and focused personality traits. The blue letters and loose fit of the T-shirt were casually put together, but they unexpectedly fit Miku's unpolished loungewear vibe from the anime. The shorts and bare feet were meant to enhance the soft, cute, and lazy visual effect.

During the shoot, I tried two poses. The lying one had more of a lazy feel, but the sitting one was more captivating because I needed to use the lines of my arms and legs to balance the image's center of gravity, while using a double-knee kneeling posture to make my body lines look softer. In terms of light and shadow, I leaned toward warm-toned soft light to avoid harsh shadows breaking up the skin texture, making me look like I was genuinely snuggling in bed in the afternoon. The most thought-provoking part of this cosplay was conveying her gaze. Miku often has a look that is three parts melancholy and seven parts softness, so I tried my best to relax the corners of my mouth, let my line of sight drop slightly, and create a sense of quiet watching through the refraction of the blue eyes. The shooting process was actually very relaxed, without requiring complex actions, focusing heavily on capturing that natural, dorky moment. Though the clothing and props were quite basic, simpler casual cosplay looks put character accuracy and understanding of their temperament to the test even more. I hope this presentation makes you feel Miku's quiet and warm companionship.
