Strolling through the convention at Comic City today, my eyes were immediately caught by two gorgeously wrapped itasha parked along the outer perimeter. Talking with the on-site event staff, I learned this promotional check-in campaign runs all the way until August 30, and checking in earns you exclusive Sayuki merchandise—a wonderful unexpected treat for today's visit. Since I ran into it, taking a proper photoshoot was an absolute must.

For this con appearance, I specially styled a Kinako Cat ear cosplay. Although the post didn't cite a specific franchise origin, I prepared an ensemble attuned to her character traits: a waist-length straight golden wig topped with color-matched cat ears, complemented by vivid green contact lenses to enliven the overarching palette. For the neck, I selected a red leather collar with a metallic pendant that catches specular glint under good lighting for abundant detail. Outfit-wise, I wore an oversized white off-the-shoulder tee printed with 'OSAKA' lettering and a teal-green fish graphic, paired with tone-on-tone shorts and a plush, voluminous tail trailing behind.

While the styling appears effortless, it requires meticulous attention. Long wigs reaching the waist tangle easily, so before heading out, I sprayed generous detangling mist to ensure smooth, defined hair texture cascading down my shoulders and back. To fasten the tail securely, I used a hidden belt-clip concealed inside the waistband, ensuring it wouldn't detach even after an entire day of walking the halls. For makeup, focus went into the eyes—green contact lenses paired with soft reddish eyeshadow, alongside subtle contouring along the jawline for a sharper face before the lens. The red collar framed the neck gracefully while guiding visual attention toward the collarbones and shoulders.

The set was bathed in full pastel pink tones. An expansive backdrop featured anime character standees titled '2025 Tongyihui Anime Itasha Culture Exhibition', prominently displaying event dates and location: October 2–4 at the Foshan Tanzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center. Crowds queued up for photos holding mini souvenir fans provided by the organizers. I posed with a pink cartoon character-shaped fan and leaned against the itasha for several takes. The vehicle vinyl wrapping was stunningly intricate—extensive full-body graphics featuring pink-haired anime girls, paired with Japanese and English decals; the streamlined curves and lustrous lacquer created intense visual punch. I even met fellow cosplayers and posed for duo photos, making for a delightfully warm atmosphere.

This spot is exceptionally photogenic; though lighting leaned slightly warm, mild exposure tweaks make color grading effortless in post. Today was merely a preview—the grand spectacle arrives over the National Day holiday. From October 2 to 4, Halls 1 and 2 of the Foshan Tanzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center will showcase over 400 itasha. For photographers who love capturing cars and portraits, it is an unmissable playground.

I spent hours walking outdoors in this attire; though the off-the-shoulder design exposes skin to the sun, the breathability kept me cool and comfortable. A practical tip for friends planning to visit the Foshan exhibition: definitely wear comfortable flats, as the massive venue and spread-out car displays mean extensive walking. Also, bring a portable fill light or reflector if possible—vehicle paint creates complex reflections, and side rim lighting yields much cleaner, dramatic results. Today at Comic City was a blast, and now I'm prepping for the big Foshan con over the holiday, eager to capture more stunning itasha and cosplay works!
