[Cat ear cosplay] Cat Ear Girl in the Gym Storage Room: This Gymnastics Uniform and Bloomers Are Really Suitable for an Athletic Style

This photoshoot was set in the school's gym storage room, filled with nostalgia and athletic atmosphere. Blue metal lockers, carts piled high with basketballs, and an old wooden vaulting horse—almost every corner could yield a distinct vibe. I've always loved sporty outfits with an everyday touch, so this time I specifically paired a white T-shirt with purple Bloomers shorts, plus White stockings and a cat ear headband, wanting to see if I could capture that "mischievous underclassman in PE class" feeling.

In terms of outfit, White stockings are truly the soul of this look. The texture of the stockings appears delicate under the lights, and pairing them with athletic shorts nicely elongates leg lines. Bloomers shorts are actually a classic element in 2D sports attire; they are very comfortable to wear and suitable for various large movements, like curling up in a basketball cart or resting legs on the vaulting horse as shown in the photos. A red collar adds a subtle touch, introducing a pop of bright color to the solid-toned outfit so it doesn't feel too plain.

Shooting was actually quite exhausting. The pile of basketballs was hard and slippery, and curling inside required keeping a natural expression while maintaining center of gravity—I relied entirely on the photographer's candid captures to get Photo 1. Photo 4 is my personal favorite: sitting on the wooden vaulting horse with a volleyball resting on my legs and my hand shielding my forehead slightly from light. That angle perfectly displayed the extension of the White stockings and legs without looking overly forced. The later sets were shot in front of lockers; leaning against those numbered old lockers felt like zoning out right outside the locker room after PE class.

I scouted the location myself. The lighting in the gym storage room combined top lighting with natural light from side windows, making skin tones appear clear and luminous. However, due to clutter in the storage room, composition required careful selection, so most shots used a wide aperture to blur the background and highlight the subject. I especially liked the blue metal railing and scoreboard, which formed a great color harmony with the red, yellow, and blue volleyballs, imbuing the frames with an athletic competition feel.

Honestly, shooting cosplay doesn't always require extravagant scenes or complex props. Sometimes a humble gym storage room, a simple gymnastics uniform, plus small accessories fitting character traits can bring out the character's spirit. I define this photo set as "campus cat ear athletic style"—retaining 2D moe charm while staying grounded in real-life settings. I feel this everyday casual cosplay makes it easier for viewers to immerse themselves.

Lastly, a lot of thought went into everything from initial planning and shooting to post-editing, especially color grading: removing the original yellowish-gray tone of the storage room to keep skin naturally fair while enhancing cool blue and purple tones to make the overall look cleaner and fresher.
