Shooting the Ice Heart Chalcedony skin for Yin Ziping from NARAKA: BLADEPOINT this time was set in a traditional garden in Xi'an, marking a shoot where static poses and dynamic candid shots were thoroughly integrated.

This Ice Heart Chalcedony costume is packed with details—especially the white lace, ruffles, and silver embroidery, which reflect a delicate luster under sunlight. To match the airy lightness in the original art, I paired it with white semi-sheer over-the-knee stockings and white high-heeled pumps. While the fabric looks lightweight, it has quite a few layers; performing high leg-lifts and jumping moves under Xi'an's outdoor heat of over 30°C was truly a major test of endurance.

The shooting location featured typical rockeries, bamboo groves, and wooden boardwalks. The uneven rocks made finding balance in platform high heels exceptionally difficult. Keeping center of gravity was the highest priority during the shoot: for instance, in the single-leg standing pose, I had to rely on core strength to stabilize my body while keeping my ankle from twisting. The props in hand included a transparent sword and a white lace folding fan. The folding fan was light to hold, but the angles of opening and closing required precise control to achieve the best lighting effect before the lens. The transparent sword reflected sunlight beautifully, though avoiding harsh glare spots required continuous micro-adjustments of its angle.

A strong breeze blew throughout the shoot, tossing my long hair around, but unexpectedly, this uncontrollable natural wind added a lot of dynamic tension to the photos. In particular, during the over-the-shoulder glance, the skirt hem and hair strands billowed in the wind, forming a striking contrast with the rigid rocks in the background.

As a cosplayer who frequently shoots outdoors, I have a deep appreciation for this look. Yin Ziping is set as a benevolent physician who heals the world, lamenting how people disregard their own lives while holding compassion for all living beings. Her merciful nature forms a richly layered contrast with this short, agile, and somewhat cute skin. When portraying her, I needed not only to convey outward playfulness, but also to bring out the resolve of a healer through my gaze and posture.

To achieve a satisfying result, organizing the costume styling and verifying props in advance took a long time, while on-site movements and poses were tested step by step under the photographer's guidance. For instance, the high leg-lift required ensuring the skirt fell naturally without awkward angles while showcasing the leg contour and the stocking material, which called for repeatedly adjusting the garments. In the single-knee kneeling pose where my knee pressed directly against rough stone, a transparent mat was placed underneath to protect the stockings from snagging, which we had to carefully conceal during framing.

This photo set fulfilled my obsession with the Ice Heart Chalcedony skin, achieving maximum fidelity from garment smoothness to prop matching. I hope everyone enjoys this set of Yin Ziping wandering through the classical garden.
