[Aglaea Cosplay] Long time no see Cifera, Honkai: Star Rail Aglaea and Sephire photoset

The Aglaea and Sephire photoset on September 12th was finally successfully produced. This time I was responsible for portraying Aglaea, while Cifera was interpreted by @几何大帅哥. As a player of Honkai: Star Rail, being able to portray Aglaea in person was a very special experience. For this day, we made a lot of preparations in advance, from costume pattern-making to prop details, hoping to get as close to the original setting as possible.
The shooting venue on that day featured a large set of spiral staircase covered with a blue-and-gold-patterned carpet, both retro and gorgeous, providing a great background environment for our Aglaea and Sephire theme. Aglaea and Sephire share a unique bond. We discussed a lot about the relationship and ways of interaction between the characters during the shooting breaks. That phrase 'Long time no see, Cifera~' echoed repeatedly in my mind, so when we truly stood in front of the lens, the emotions flowed naturally.
In terms of costumes, Aglaea's outfit features a huge amount of gold decorations and flowing fabric, requiring careful attention to the placement of the skirt hem when walking and sitting. The strappy high heels on the feet and the golden vine decorations on the legs have certain demands on flexibility, especially when posing on the stairs; maintaining balance while keeping the posture elegant is a physically exhausting process. On the other side, Cifera's costume features unique beast-ear hoodies and a long tail, paired with a black bodysuit and golden armored high boots. The overall styling is very capable, and combined with the trailing effect of the long tail, it presents a wonderful visual extension sense on the stairs.
When we were shooting, @龙骧nightfall put a lot of thought into capturing the light and shadow. The on-site ambient lighting was relatively complex; to highlight the metallic texture and fabric layers of the costumes, we tried various standing positions and poses. Whether sitting side by side on the steps or leaning against the railing at alternating heights, we hoped to capture the sense of intimacy and storytelling between the characters. Due to the cumbersomeness of the costumes and props, there were some minor episodes along the way, such as fixing the tail position and adjusting the boot angles, but everyone cooperated with each other to adjust, and every frame ultimately presented embodied everyone's hard work.
The temperament of the character Aglaea is quite unique. To maintain her demeanor in front of the lens, I kept trying to immerse myself in that atmosphere. The interaction with Cifera gave me a lot of inspiration. From the initial light testing to the subsequent formal shooting, the whole process went very smoothly. When we sat side by side on the steps, we needed to balance the unfolding angle of the skirt hem, the display of leg lines, and the overall composition. Cifera's tail coiled into a gorgeous arc on the stairs, blending well with the retro and gorgeous surrounding environment. To make the frame more layered, we also tried standing positions at different heights, utilizing the depth of the staircase to increase visual spatial sense.
When selecting photos later, looking at those interlaced moments of light and shadow, I can still recall the excitement of the shoot back then. Behind every cosplay costume lies a massive amount of hard work; from trimming and shaping the wig to fixing every gold ornament, we strove to present the best state in front of the lens. Although wearing high heels and heavy accessories for a long time makes the body feel tired, the moment of seeing the final photos makes all the effort worthwhile.
