[Azusa Shirasu cosplay] Studio shoot record of Blue Archive's Tactical girl

For this shoot, I chose the outfit of Azusa Shirasu from Blue Archive. The biggest highlights of the entire look are undoubtedly the silver-white twintail wig, iconic pointed elf ears, the black hair bow on top, and the translucent purple halo—not to mention that stylish little tail and the striking red armband.

I spent most of the day in the studio today with this set of gear. Honestly, while the outfit looks sleek and clean, it includes quite a few detailed accessories. First was styling the wig—using a curling iron to set the bangs and sideburns so they contoured my face while keeping that airy, anime-character fluffiness took considerable time. Once the elf ears were attached, my face profile underwent a noticeable visual enhancement, appearing much more refined. The black tie against the white shirt, complete with tie clip and gold chain details, immediately gave the school uniform a unique vibe that balances "proper academy" aesthetics with hidden armed readiness.

However, what I want to share most this time is that reddish-brown wooden prop rifle. The rifle has a very solid weight in hand, giving it excellent texture and making it the visual focal point of the entire ensemble. When shouldering it, balancing the center of gravity requires special attention; otherwise, the photos can look top-heavy. To capture an intimidating aura while holding the rifle, the photographer and I repeatedly fine-tuned angles to align the stock position, my gaze, and the perspective of the halo. Holding the rifle half-raised in a standby pose was surprisingly tiring on the wrist, all while maintaining strict expression control. The synergy between prop and costume truly endows the character with a calm, confident Tactical girl presence—a contrast that is deeply charming.

Lady luck was on my side today as I bumped into several friends doing other cosplays at the studio. Midway through, we gathered to take a few group shots, each wearing differently styled uniforms or combat gear, posing in balanced layers. Against the eclectic backdrop and red drapery, we exchanged character insights while adjusting positions, creating a very relaxed and fun atmosphere. Although the studio ceiling featured exposed grid structure and the floor was scattered with various props, umbrellas, and reflectors, this candid behind-the-scenes setting captured the most authentic Casual cosplay work state.

Beyond recreating character traits, the most effort went into the details. The bold white text on the red armband alongside its serrated edges delivers strong visual impact. Paired with a black pleated skirt and gold buttons, the overall color scheme is harmoniously balanced. Black-and-white half-finger gloves with red cuffs further enrich the visual depth of the outfit.

Whenever doing a cosplay requiring large props and intricate accessories, the greatest challenge is balancing aesthetics with functionality. Yet when I reviewed the polished shots on camera, every tweak and heavy lifting session felt entirely worthwhile. The silver-white hair glimmered softly under studio lighting, blending with the pale purple halo to evoke both mysterious allure and crisp capability. Practicing various gun-holding poses repeatedly—whether one-handed or two-handed—highlighted the ingenious craftsmanship of this costume design. Blending everyday schoolwear with tactical military elements grants the visuals both accessible warmth and cool combat charisma. Being able to convey these character qualities through Anime-style photography gives me an overwhelming sense of accomplishment.
