[Albion cosplay] The pure white elf in Azur Lane

When shooting this Albion photoset, the focus of the early preparation was mainly placed on the texture of the costume and its harmony with the scene's atmosphere. The core design of this outfit is the layering of pure white and lace, with the pink flowers on the chest and waist serving as the visual center. To avoid a cheap look, I repeatedly adjusted the arrangement of the flowers during ready-to-wear selection and subsequent organization. The tassel collar on the neck and the white lace garter stockings on the legs are important details that enhance character recognition; especially the texture of the lace edges, which severely tests the material under close-up shots. To restore the elf's cool detachment, the wig was chosen as long straight hair with a silver-purple tone, trimming the bangs and sideburns. Accompanied by wearing elf ears, the angle of the hair accessories was adjusted to ensure the silhouette maintains dimensionality when shooting from different angles. The makeup emphasized the translucency of the light-colored circle lenses and the slight reddish tint around the eyes, keeping the lip color as natural as possible without overshadowing the rest.

For the props, I prepared a round fan decorated with flowers and tassels, as well as a white porcelain vase and red plum blossom branches used in the background. The set design of the shooting location leans towards an oriental fantasy style; the wooden steps and railings provided good depth, and the plush blanket spread on the steps also added softness to the frame. The most painstaking part was the smoke effect. We set up multiple smoke tablets on site to create lingering mist, giving the frame a hazy feel as if being in a fairyland. The lighting mainly used a warm orange-pink tone, adding some warmth to the originally detached character.

There was a shot stepping on the water surface to splash water. The water temperature was lower than expected at the time. To capture the instant of splashing water, I stepped into it repeatedly. Keeping my feet fully immersed in the water while maintaining the straightness of the instep and the relaxation of the expression actually tests core strength immensely. To showcase the leg lines and the details of the stockings, many adjustments were made to the sitting postures, such as crossing the legs or sitting sideways cross-legged, using body posture to guide the vision while paying attention to keeping the waist straight and shoulders dropped to prevent posture issues. The way of holding the round fan and the landing point of the gaze were all adjusted after continuous communication with the photographer. Sometimes, for the extension feel of a single look, we would take dozens of shots in a row to pick the most natural frame. What I am most satisfied with in this photoset is the creation of the overall atmosphere. Instead of using heavy post-processing to alter the original light and shadow, I tried my best to achieve the best on-site, presenting the character's elegant yet slightly mysterious feeling.

Throughout the entire process, from location scouting to final styling, a lot of time and energy was spent. Because the material of the costume is relatively light and thin, extra care was needed when moving and posing to avoid wardrobe malfunctions and stepping on the skirt hem. To ensure the cleanliness of the frame, the placement positions of small props in the background were also fine-tuned multiple times. Dry ice and smoke tablets on site needed to be constantly replenished to maintain concentration, so the intervals between touch-ups and adjusting states were a race against time. Although the shooting was hard, seeing the effects presented in the viewfinder made me feel that everything was totally worth it. This photoset basically achieved the visual expectations I had for Albion in my heart. Whether it's the details of the clothing or the integration of the scene, I hope to bring some new visual experiences to friends who like this character.
