This Traditional Chinese style studio shoot featuring Albion from Azur Lane aimed to capture the harmonious collision between delicate white lace and classical Chinese aesthetics. For hair and makeup, matching the all-white ensemble, I chose long silver-gray hair paired with elf ears to refine the facial contours. Blue contact lenses were used for the eyes to add a touch of clarity and ethereal charm, while a soft pink-orange lip color ensured the overall palette remained subtle and balanced. The costume featured rich details: a white lace bodysuit accented with pink fabric flowers at the chest, and a necklace adorned with yellow tassels that resonated with the warm yellow ambient lighting in the backdrop. The lower half was styled with lace-trimmed White stockings and white high heels—a classic pairing beloved by photographers. The location was a self-constructed Traditional Chinese style studio featuring rosewood furniture, lattice screen windows, ink-washed white gauze, and crimson maple leaves, with props including round silk fans and palace lanterns. Warm-toned floor lamps were positioned to elevate the mood. During the shoot, I explored various poses: reclining against a wooden couch to highlight leg lines, holding the round fan while adjusting hairpins, or lying sideways on the bench with the fan raised. Precise body angles were essential to flatter fabric textures and leg contours naturally. Since I was shooting self-portraits, running back and forth to tweak camera settings, angles, and lighting made catching relaxed candid moments tricky, causing some initial stiffness until an assistant stepped in to trigger the shutter. For lighting, side-backlighting paired with a warm key light lent a subtle glow along the hair strands. In post-processing, authentic textures of skin, lace, and stockings were preserved without over-smoothing, and color isolation was applied to prevent the white garments from yellowing under warm light. The fusion of traditional Chinese bamboo, maple leaves, and ink-brushed gauze with the Western-style white dress created a wonderfully unique visual synergy.
