The details on this blue-and-white bunny ear dress for Arknights' Amiya were vastly more complex to manage than anticipated. To truly channel the character's energetic spirit, we selected an open outdoor location framed by expansive blue skies to capture mid-air leaping snapshots. The outfit is richly layered: a blue sailor collar pairs with a black corset sash, flowing into a multi-tiered ruffled mini skirt. The outer blue hemline is edged with white stripes, while the underlayer packs generous ruffled white petticoat linings; during actual wear, the shape of the pannier and skirt drape required continual tuning to preserve a full umbrella silhouette whether still or airborne. The pairing of blue-and-white striped over-the-knee socks with solid White stockings forms an asymmetrical visual dynamic that, combined with platform boots, visually elongates leg lines—one of my absolute favorite aspects of this styling. The light-blue plush bunny prop held in my arms, with its sleeping closed-eye design and pink accents, faithfully matched the original aesthetic and brought immense life to the frame.
When capturing airborne frames like these, the greatest challenge lies in core stabilization. To achieve that gorgeous billowing arc across the skirt, I had to leap repeatedly in quick succession while tightly governing my body posture and facial expression at the peak of each jump. For example, cradling the rabbit with one arm while raising the other high required overcoming the garment's physical weight while sustaining a radiant, effortless smile so the capture wouldn't look strained. The photographer nailed the shutter timing: the softly blurred European architecture in the backdrop against the crisp sky produced exceptionally pleasing chromatic harmony. The daylight was glorious, with warm sunset tones kissing the silhouette to form a delicate rim light against the cool-toned attire.
Crafting this Amiya cosplay took meticulous dedication, from styling and setting the wig to fine-tuning accessory placements. The side tendrils and braided crown had to hug my facial contours, and the positioning of the bunny ears underwent repeated trials to avoid looking disjointed. Collaborating with the photographer was seamless; we aligned beforehand on achieving a visual impact that felt both buoyant and powerful. Consequently, we bypassed stationary posed frames entirely, focusing throughout on leaping and dynamic snapshots. To pull this off, I took deep breaths before every jump to prime my muscles, adjusting limbs rapidly once airborne. The airborne silhouette of the skirt was the centerpiece of this look—the multi-layered cut blossomed naturally against wind resistance, though failing to pre-smooth the lining pleats could easily make frames appear messy. Furthermore, the blue plush rabbit's size was just right, filling negative space without overpowering the composition. Varied angles yielded delightful surprises: low-angle shots emphasized leg lines and dramatic tension, whereas frontal angles celebrated the symmetrical elegance of the costume. Overall, this outdoor shoot tested physical endurance, but seeing the lively dynamic frames completely eclipsed any fatigue with artistic fulfillment. Every shoot is a dialogue with the character, drawing near to her pure resolve through fabric and props. I hope this set conveys both Amiya's vibrancy and her unwavering resilience.
