The original intention behind choosing this maid outfit for Altria was to step outside her conventional knight regalia and explore a compelling contrast. The deep blue main palette forms a sharp visual contrast with the crisp white ruffles; to honor the character design faithfully, I poured significant care into wig styling and makeup. The wig needed to radiate an organic golden sheen without frizz, while the bangs had to be trimmed to skim right along the eye contour. For makeup, light green contact lenses were used to mirror her canonical eye color, paired with reddish-brown eyeshadow gradients that sculpted a deep, gently wistful expression before the lens.

The shooting location was an indoor studio filled with floral arrangements and sheer drapery. Dense purple-pink blossoms flanked the background on one side while pink lilies adorned the other, offering rich visual layering. To blend harmoniously with the scene, I paired black over-the-knee Stockings with chunky black patent leather boots. Although the boots were quite heavy, they elevated my posture and elongated leg lines beautifully on camera. During shooting, rather than relying on dramatic poses, I engaged subtly with the surrounding drapes and flowers—gently brushing the sheer fabric or embracing flower bouquets, as shown in Photos 2 and 5.

The on-site lighting provided immense atmosphere; photographer Xiao Xiexin controlled light and shadow impeccably. Backlighting and side rim lights traced my contours with a warm amber halo, lending the frames the cinematic feel of an oil painting. Because the flower wall was quite tall, the photographer had me stand on steps, using a slight low angle to accentuate dimensional presence. My favorites are Photos 1 and 6: the profile angle with a raised hand in Photo 1 caught the flare of the skirt hemline perfectly, where the deep tone of the black Stockings contrasted against the white apron, elongating visual proportions while adding poise to the character. The back half-body close-up in Photo 3 utilized deeper shadows to chisel the crisp lines of the collar and spine.

The entire shoot tested both physical endurance and expression management. Balancing atop steps in a heavy, lined dress and platform shoes was far from easy. To deliver the ideal low-angle perspective, I kept my chin slightly tucked and eyes gazing forward consistently. During breaks, I studied the flower shades and contemplated the natural drape of the skirt to present an authentic state that honored the lore while reflecting my own interpretation. Slipping into this attire, donning the wig, completing the makeup, and standing under the lights always brings a total immersion into another identity—and that is the true joy cosplay brings me.
